Massimo Luongu “has an exceptional footballing brain”, “has been great”, and “is perhaps one of the best free transfers in the league on evidence to date”.

How some of our fans didn’t rate him when he was here still amazes me. He finished very near the top of the league’s tackling stats one year (and certainly top of ours) and yet people still said he was lightweight. Mad. He would have been a very good pick up for us (over Hayden, as he’s more mobile and forward looking). Possibly couldn’t afford him. Doughty is a great signing for them. Suspect Coburn will excel there too.

They’ve assembled a decent squad. They really should be looking to be top 8, if not top 6. However, I thought they looked very poor in the 1-0 win over Watford which was an awful game. If that version of Millwall turns up, we’ll win.

Sounds like it will be a tough game on Saturday.

One comment made me smile about Alex Neil: "His commitment to the club was evidenced by already signing a new contract over the summer."

He was committed to Sunderland before he jumped ship to Stoke.

Well after reading that, if we win on Saturday it really will be impressive.

Alex Neil teams tend to be nasty, awkward buggers.

Looking at some of their highlights and my big worry is the wide areas and crosses into the box.

Tough game and could go either way.

Poll: How is Nourry cooking so far ? 🤣

They also tend to be very well researched and prepared (not including Stoke, everything goes to sht at Stoke).

Agreed.

Also, as a few posters have said, we've now played six games with the new tactics and formation so they're no longer a surprise, plus there's been two weeks of rest for upcoming oppo teams to study those six games. On the other hand, we've had two weeks with most of our first-team players to change and improve. I think Saturday will be a good challenge.

Think we will come out on the front foot in this one, think Julien does not want to have another frustrating home game as we did against Oxford. Revert to the Stoke game starting line up if all fit. Confident if we get ahead in this game that we will win.

Going off my fading memory Brian we usually get beaten the first game back after the breaks which stings because we always seem to be playing well before Internationals .
We might be better prepared this time if the injured players have been back in action and nobody comes back hurt of course.
No need to worry about Jimmy Dunne he must wonder why his name gets called to go away with ROI

I’d be whispering in Kone’s ear about Luongo’s long standing weakness that I can’t imagine he’s shaken off over the years.

Is it the one that led him to two promotions in a row and a season in the PL?

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?
