Pentre Awel Llanelli. on 10:01 - Oct 17 with 599 views | Whiterockin | It's nice to see a new facility opening when so many are shutting down due to running costs, heating the pool in particular. Hopefully this one doesn't go the same way, its a fine line between generating funds from customers and out pricing the product.

It’s a very impressive building and it was very busy there yesterday, it will be interesting to see if it stands the test of time.

The council are a very minor stakeholder less than 25%. Over 50% has invested by private beneficiaries and they will be looking for a return. Unless of course the government tax them to the hilt and they pull out.

BBC Wales did a report on the opening a few evening ago, they must have trolled Llanelli Town centre finding two locals who gave negative comments about the project. The locals I spoke to last evening were very positive saying it was a much needed boost to the locality. The only negative comment I heard last night was from a couple of the children who stated that the main swimming pool was too shallow for too long, They did have a point because there is a shallow children’s pool alongside the main pool.
