I was sat there today thinking ohh wow we look a proper side. One note Smyth deserved a shout for how well he played especially in those opening 20mins

After the 20 minutes it was normal service resumed.

The performance was better than the Oxford game so thats something.

Points there for us today but after the second couldn’t see anything but a Millwall win .
An Alex Niell side basically shithoused the rest of the game.
We kept sticking balls from set pieces into their box with the same inevitable result .
Play around the lumps , get in behind them and the goals will come.
Burrells proved that .
Burrell himself was my MOTM . Felt a bit for Frey though. Our midfielders kept sticking balls down the channel in the first half under the impression he was Burell .

I thought we came out of the blocks quickly, but so we should have after two weeks since our last game. I thought we created some good early chances, as a result of being quick to the second balls, but I was a bit disappointed that we kept on trying the same thing, balls out wide then crosses into the box. We should have got one of our small tricky players up there and tried to beat them on the ground through the middle of their defence.

Walked away from that feeling ok - we’re looking a much better side these days and playing some nice football, we lost on a couple of bad goals to concede. Basically exactly what we did to Bristol City

RND is looking like a great signing and Madsen is now consistent in his resurgent form, two bonuses none of us would have expected

Frey’s looking shot and surely it’s time for Kolli to step ahead of him in selection up front

Basically, we tend to play for 20-40 minutes a game, which even the manager has acknowledged, When we're at it, pressing, and attacking, we look like a decent side. Perhaps he could coach them to play a little more of the alloted 90 mins.

Saw the highlight package on some grainy website but it was a pity that late chance fell to Burell head instead of Kone we might have stolen a point .
Not being critical of the kid he scored a sweet goal ( excellent positioning ) but would have cemented his hero status bagging that equalizer.
Anybody know why Cooke tried that Ronaldo overhead kick that move looked promising.
Broken record here on my posts as usual but how/why did we give up that goal before the half with everybody ready to head down the tunnel it broke our spirit I think we could have easily drew won it at 0-1 down instead of 0- 2 IMO

I think Morrison is often slow to react to situations and Cook for all his experience seems to have brainfarts like trying a Ronaldo style overhead from an angle to goal with about 2 minutes left. I thought Cook was at fault for the 1st goal and him and others for the 2nd which seem to go through 3 or 4 of our defenders. The speed of thought and legs of MBengue Improved us considerably when he came on.

Yeah. Hindsight is always 20/20, but it does seem odd to start the slowest defensive back four in our squad. Plus, though I've loved him to bits since he arrived, Madsen isn't likely to win any 20 yard sprints back into his own area to help out. The pressing/speed of Mbengue and Esquerdinha early on from might perhaps have changed things?

Issue is when Kone nd Frey are ur front two we can’t get a high press ,would like to see saito moved inside when poku nd chair are back plying ,gues us important legs through the middle
