We have a long history in this country of the “spare” causing nothing but trouble. From the days of Harold Godwinson’s brother siding with Harold Hadrada at Stamford Bridge the Spare has always gone off the rails. Richard I caused all sorts of problems for Henry the Young King, John then caused chaos for Richard. Richard III killed Edward IV’s sons. It’s never ending. The Queen had to deal with Margaret’s drunken antics, Charles has to deal with Andrew’s rampant perversions. William has to carefully navigate Harry’s open betrayal.

Charlotte seems from the outside to have a good grounding but I wouldn’t be surprised if she goes off the rails at some point if history teaches us anything.

It is more likely that Henry Tudor (Henry VII) had Edward IV's sons (the Princes in the Tower) killed. The belief that Richard III was responsible stems from Elizabethan propaganda, and promoted by William Shakespeare.

Potentially yes that is one of the theories but the two boys were last reportedly seen two years before Bosworth so it becomes less likely though not impossible

Interestingly two skeletons of children around the ages of King Edward and the Duke of York were found under a staircase whilst renovations were going on in the Tower during the Victorian era but Queen Elizabeth and Charles have not yet given permission for them to be tested for DNA. Contemporary reports suggests they were stuffed behind a staircase after being assassinated so it is probably their remains. As to what actually happened to them and who did it we’ll probably never know.

The toe sucking pictures seemed to have been lost in the Newspaper go get at all costs reporting now , sickening paparazzi shots published at the time .

Maybe the portrayal of them in the spoof C4 sit com The Royals might give answers .

Harry done a runner , even the late Lady Di had her doubts on this messed up system .

Yes, a few years back Charlie boy was open to the idea but it all seems to have gone quiet.

The two you are referring to were found in 1674 during the reign of Charles II and remain in a vault in Westminster Abbey.

There were two later mysterious discoveries at Windsor Castle in Edward IV's tomb in 1789 and again around 1810 of four lead coffins in total inscribed as Mary Plantagenet (14) and George (2) both child mortalities but whose bodies are in the duplicate coffins?

Like you say it requires Royal Consent and no further testing has been done since the advent of DNA and I think there's a long standing superstition among Royalty of disturbing your ancestors graves.

There were so many who didn’t survive childhood back then unfortunately. There’s an unknown infant in with Henry VIII and Charles I’s vault too. It is a strange one though because the deaths and resting place of lords and nobles and their families were usually meticulously recorded.

I can't see DNA being allowed anywhere near the Royal Family as it may uncover a couple of surprises, then again possibly not.

They wouldn’t need Charlie’s DNA. They already have Richard III’s DNA from his skeleton and Edward V and the Duke of York were his nephews so they’re pretty closely related. All they’d need is his permission.

I agree that Charles wouldn’t ever allow his DNA to be examined, it’s probably full of mutations from a thousand years of shagging your own cousins.

You have a tongue in cheek style but surely aware Charles III and Richard III were not in any way related ( as far as is reasonable).

Richard III was not part of the House of Windsor; he was the last king of the House of York, which was a branch of the older Plantagenet dynasty. House of Windsor was only founded in early 1900s.

They share nearly all the same common ancestors though. The Hanoverians were descended directly from both the Tudors and Stuarts. They themselves were descended from the Plantagenets. To suggest they wouldn’t share at least some familial DNA would be risible.
