Interestingly two skeletons of children around the ages of King Edward and the Duke of York were found under a staircase whilst renovations were going on in the Tower during the Victorian era but Queen Elizabeth and Charles have not yet given permission for them to be tested for DNA. Contemporary reports suggests they were stuffed behind a staircase after being assassinated so it is probably their remains. As to what actually happened to them and who did it we’ll probably never know. | |

There were so many who didn’t survive childhood back then unfortunately. There’s an unknown infant in with Henry VIII and Charles I’s vault too. It is a strange one though because the deaths and resting place of lords and nobles and their families were usually meticulously recorded. | |
