Interesting viewpoint from a QPR fan on footballleagueowrld.com

This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…

Queens Park Rangers have enjoyed a great opening to the 2025/26 campaign.

Julien Stephan’s side looked like potential strugglers during the first three matches of the term, picking up one point during that time and were on the receiving end of a 7-1 hammering by Coventry City.

Since then though, the Loftus Road outfit have bounced back tremendously. QPR went on a six-match unbeaten run which resulted in four victories, subsequently pushing them up towards the top of the Championship standings.

A recent defeat at the hands of Millwall has somewhat halted the Rs’ momentum, but they still sit just two points outside of the play-offs after 10 matches.

A key factor in Rangers’ success has been the immense summer transfer window they enjoyed. During this period, operators such as Richard Kone, Kwame Poku and Koki Saito.

When added to a squad that already featured talents such as Karamoko Dembélé, Ilias Chair and Jimmy Dunne, it isn’t hard to see why they have started so strongly.

However, there is no time for Stephan and Co. to rest on their laurels. With January already a prospect worth considering, Football League World’s QPR fan pundit, Louis Moir, has revealed who he would implore Rangers to sign during the winter transfer window.

Queens Park Rangers told to bring Southampton man back to Loftus Road
Lewis O'Brien & Ronnie Edwards - Southampton v Wrexham
“We've got to go back in and try to get Ronnie Edwards,” stated Louis. “It looked like it could have really happened at the end of the summer window. What a signing he would have been.

“There's room there for another centre-half. If we were able to secure a deal for Ronnie Edwards, that would just put us even more in an upwards trajectory than we are already without him. Because he is simply superb at this level.

“He's got all the makings to be a top Premier League defender and potentially an England national team player as well, because he is excellent. I would just love for him to return to the club on a permanent basis if that's possible.

“It seemed really close, and it was as if Southampton weren't really budging with what we were offering in the summer. If we can go back in and sort out a deal there, then that would be exceptional business.”

Have to say I've not been overly impressed by him so far.

He's improved since the shaky start to the season but being not particularly tall 5 "11 I believe and neither quick or particularly strong I'm surprised by the love the QPR fans have for him.

Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised to see him dropped today if Quarshie is coming back in. THB would probably swap over to the right.

I was saying how much QPR fans rated Edwards when he came back to us much to the derision of others. He didn’t play well for us last night though after a run of decent games . We actually have some very good players for this level but we’re just too nicey nicey with no agressive players in the side.

Bristol City came at us and we backed off and couldnt cope. Sinclair Armstrong caused havoc.

The biggest problem we have is not on the field but off it.
Players form go backwards when they come here.

I just don’t see it.

You cannot reason a person out of something they were not reasoned into.

Yup.

I remember Sinclair Armstrong from QPR a couple of seasons ago.

He is exactly what we are crying out for. Somebody who bullies teams and pushes you up the pitch with his pace.

We couldn't handle him.

It is so easy to be an opposing manager and work out how to beat us.

Personally I thought Edwards was poor last night. He was caught out of position a lot but his distribution was awful.

He waited and waited to play a pass then inevitably played it to the winger/wing back when they were tightly marked so they had to play it straight back. He never played a pass for them to run on to. Plus he took so long to play the pass that the opposition player could read when it was coming
