So maybe Nick’s Swansea match report wasn’t far off the mark Happy Clappers 22:53 - Oct 21 with 956 viewssaintmark1976

Those that gave Nick ( and a few other contributors) a hard time about his match verdict following Saturday’s game against Swansea appear conspicuous by their absence this evening. I wonder why ?

Nick was spot on.

I can't see any signs of anything. We are weak, lack.intensity, arn't motivated (f@ck me the Pompey performance was a disgrace), mentally weak, we fall apart every time we concede. His press conferences are a bore. He comes across like he couldn't give a f@ck.

Sport Republic are utter tw@ts, but Will Still.has to go. These players are not.motivated. they dont fight. They just collapse.

But I am.pleased to say Will Still was strongly booed at the end. The crowd have turned. The place will turn very toxic.soon.

I am sure that happy clappers will try their best, but they are becoming less and less. I was at the game tonight, and that's the first time I have seen loud boos and middle fingers up at the manager, who very quickly and noticeably ran for the tunnel. The fans are turning.

There's something wrong over at Staplewood or in the dressing room.

This bunch of players have zero respect for Will Still.

Still keeps saying about last season & how it's affected the players. Well at least 8 of the players he picks each week weren't even here last season FFS!!!

A new manager would be the 8th under Sport Republic. They've all met the same fate.

Well that optimism was there for the first 30 mins when we did play well and totally dominated and even scored a good goal, albeit their defence contributed playing as ours do, but after that the heads went totally down and there was no motivation at all.
That's when that optimism has totally disappeared and the sooner there is another change the better, unless we stuff Blackburn of course which we should do

If we manage to beat Blackburn, we would equal Derby's all-time Football League record for the fewest wins in 50 games; if we don't, we'll break it!

Just as against Swansea we played well for the first half of the game and perhaps should have had it won by half time. The problems we had last night were:

- poor finishing (of course)
- not having a target man, which makes our play one dimensional
- major individual errors
- some bad luck
- playing against a well organised side
- a lack of experience in our spine (so called)
- not adapting to changes in the game
- heads going down when things went against us

WS may be to blame for the last 2, but not the others.

The biggest factor in all this is the lack of a centre forward. It must be really demotivating to play in a team without one. As Manning (or was it Fraser?) said to McBurnie, he really wished we had someone like McBurnie to play to. Any manager on earth will struggle to get results with a team of lots of nippy wingers and no centre forward.

In some respects you are right when you say that Still isnt responsible for all, but it isn't just the last two.

The experience in the spine of the side could have Flynn Downs & Finn Azaz in the centre of midfield alongside Shea Charles,

Still chooses to ignore those players who have proven championship experience .

He will come up against well organised sides, but we should be a well organised side with better players and we are a poorly organised side with no leaders.

I agree with some of that but I think it's too harsh to say we're poorly organised. We haven't conceded goals from poor organisation. Last night it was due to individual errors and bad luck.
