It's a real challenge for opposing teams to work out how to beat them.

However, we are piss-easy to play against.

An opposing manager just has to do what City did last night.

Sit back, let us pass the ball about and get nowhere and just hit us on the break.

Blackburn will doubtless do the same on Saturday.

As I said on another thread, we are one of the best teams in the League in the middle-third of the pitch, but one of the very worst in the two thirds of the pitch which count.

We're an utter mess, basically.

I was confident up until last week that we wouldn't be in trouble this season.

But I am quickly revising that opinion.

All teams have to do to beat us is have 2 or 3 shots at our goal. Until we get at least an average Championship goalkeeper and centre forward, that will continue to be the case.

Somebody should make a compilation of our strikers' misses and goalkeepers' errors and set it to Benny Hill's theme music, but nobody would believe it. Bristol City's 2nd goal last night looked like something out of a Laurel and Hardy movie, not a real football match.

When teams sit back in a low block, the way to beat them is get the ball wide where the space is and put crosses into the box. But that assumes you have people in the side who can win headers. Without RS we don't have that so our best option is to try and pass our way through, which you only works if you have top quality footballers. We don't and never will.

Unfortunately this problem will continue until either RS comes back or we buy a new centre forward.

Nick got pasted for the content of his Swansea verdict at the weekend with most contributors taking him to task and receiving multiple up ticks from their fellow happy clappers.

I’m genuinely beginning to wonder if they actually go to games or whether Sports Republic have infiltrated The Ugly with rouge contributors. The only other logical alternative is they simply don’t have a clue as to how a successful team is put together and managed.

For pity sake Pat, how can these people be satisfied with the current situation our great club now finds itself in ? Perhaps they are only interested in The Club Shop, Hospitality, Fan zones, The Dell Pub and Level one, who knows.

Two relegations in three years, no wins in forty five out of the last forty nine attempts, seven managers and currently unable to get wins against the likes of Swansea, Hull and Bristol City.

Luton got relegated with 49 points last time around. We have 12 points from 11 games which nobody can argue with is relegation form.

Ted Bates must be spinning in his grave.

What do you think, Dirk, could McCarthy have done better?

He looked like a rabbit in headlights to me, but I think I'm being unfair and few keepers would have reacted more quickly or effectively.

Nobody seemed bothered about relegations.
The saying was ‘The Championship is better than The Premier League’ or ‘no point being in The Premier League if we get beat every week’

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

I think we should have got rid of McCarthy years ago. His reflexes are too slow and he's not brave enough to be a goalkeeper at this level. He's cost us so many points over the years.
