But reading that match thread was seriously depressing. Their first shot on target was in the 85th minute then we did a great effort to get a draw... But Wow Negativity !!!

It really is often a polar experience than what you see, hear, feel at the game.

Couldn't agree more, Juzzie, and it is one of the reasons opinions get split. I agree with you, have come back absolutely flying on occasion and then read pages moaning about a missed chance or one of our players being out of position and thinking - yeah, but what a win, right? I wasn't there on Wednesday but I know I would have felt so much more joy if I had been. Watching the stupid sky feed on my phone, completely believing we were going to throw it away, I just don't feel that connection as if I had been in the away end. When you are there, the little things maybe you don't see them or you don't care because you are waving your appreciation to some jolly chap in the home end.....I don't know. I hate watching us on the telly, absolutely hate it. I would rather watch the goals service on sky to be honest most of the time.

Football match elitist. Replace numpty on the step Though it’s the experience, the tribal feeling, the build up and excitement of getting to the ground, being in the mix that mostly builds up the excitement (or foreboding in periods over the last few years). Agree, you see more and can track a players role off the ball much more at the game - Madsen being a prime example. Wish I could get to games more often as it’s a great feeling just to be with the lads. Keep up with the balanced views GB. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Ha, don't get me wrong I am not one of those who thinks only the views of those who are there actually matter. I did when I was younger, I admit, but that is because (i) I used to go to all of them and (ii) in those days those who didn't go were relying on newspapers and radio! I miss plenty of games these days, I am just talking about the feelings personal to me - scraping a 1-0 win away at Rotherham or something when I am there gives me a million times more joy than some amazing win when I am not.

On TV you can't see the whole pitch and what is happening off the ball so it does distort my opinion of the game. I am much more relaxed at the game than when watching on TV. But let's be honest, we were not great at Swansea with too many loose passes. Perhaps if we had got the 2nd goal it would have added a bit of gloss. It's not a bad thing that some are not happy with the performance overall as it shows expectations have risen, and we know the team can play better. Loving Chairs cameo.

There’s a difference though between ‘we need to improve our passing and be more clinical in our finishing’ to we need to bin Sam Field, it’s not good enough, we were poor etc. The former is fair enough but the latter more appropriate to a shellacking at Coventry (though even then I wouldn’t blame just one player. I also think there’s a difference between those who regularly watch on a stream and come to the occasional match and those who are historic fans who haven’t watched us in years. The latter tend to be far more results biased and not future focused because they’re not really invested in the club or the players, they just want the dopamine hit for a win or fulminating online. Obviously there’s also a difference in going to games as you see the work off the ball and the skill of some of the passing better but in terms of overall reactivity online there’s a third category.
| Qpr fans online seriously !! on 11:23 - Oct 24 with 429 views | Malintabuk | Strange how a supporters life changes as he ages Back in the day I would be at every game... no matter what or where it was. Getting home at silly o clock. Now I still think I do the majority but it changing I don't think my support is waning .. I still get the rush when we win, and the deep never against, when we lose... This year is perhaps the start of missing more games. I wasn't at Swansea... and I will also miss the Derby game... Mrs MinT birthday... and I can't remember a time where I missed 2 games... But do agree with most, I much prefer the match day experience still over a stream or sky... though sitting in a ground freezing my nuts off I'd starting to wear thin I will continue to go as long as I can... my brother is 80 next year and is starting to miss more and more games... this getting old is not what it is cracked up to be | | | |
