The other concern I have is how much influence fans have with the board over social media sites like Twitter. It's very easy for people to get carried away after a bad result, so I am interested to see how things shape up over the coming months and years in this regard.
I wonder how much this has an impact, not just on the manager, but all the requests for names and potential signings too, which shouldn't really be aired publicly. It seems like a nice idea at the time, and that communication between the club and the fans has increased and improved, but it has its drawbacks too. |

Certaianly is, there is no room for sentiment with so much money involved and the board have proved it tonight. I do believe tha Tony and Amit have genuine affection for Warnock but they made a ruthless business decision.
Warnock will always get our thanks and respect for what he's done for our club, he'll remain a legend.
I think his statement shows that although he's gutted, he realised that he was out of his depth. He seems to have taken it on the chin and will remain on good terms.
We were in freefall and yesterday's result was the final nail. Something has to change. A new manager has transformed Sunderlands season... let's hope the same for us!!

Sickening and shocking in euqal measure, but why the bile for Fernandes ffs? The take over was bolloxed too late in the day for Warnock, remember everyone screaming Norwich were snapping up all the 'best buys?'
I doubt Amit and Fernandes made this decision without a few sleepless nights. Relegation no these contracts and salaries would be a disaster for the Club that could potentially finish it off.
Shocking, brutal decision that could have gone either way. Survival will vindicate it. So let's hope he's got it right.

got a call with the news and not surprised in the slightest. Northern has summed it up best, the club comes first and if the owners feel this window is a make or break then they have to make the decision.
sorry to see NW go, think he is a great man and has been for us a great manager; but the results don't lie and for whatever reason we are sinking fast. NW was stuck with a squad that he had to throw together under 2 regimes, so 4 or 5 that would never have got in & 4 decent 'panic' buys. Some of the tactics recently in winable games have been questionable and TF & AB have to do what they think is right for the future. If it all goes titsup by the summer we can call them vvankers and look forward to a new set of away fixtures, in the meantime I support QPR; end of. |  | | |

I think Warnock did a marvelous job last year and throughout the summer, however having been given 4 or 5 signings at the end of the transfer window only one of those has performed to their true potential, only Ale Faurlin, Luke Young and Helgusson have shown any real form this season, and I was certainly getting the impression that the dressing room had far too much influence and that the coaching and organisation of the team for things such as set pieces was not up to prem standards.
I feel very sorry for Warnock, but I also understand if you've put £50m of yours and investors money and we are seemingly in a death spiral then you are going to take action. |  | | |

Agree with Clive's post earlier: if it were done, it had to be done now, so a new manager can buy his targets.
I feel awfully sad, and have nothing but the greatest admiration and gratitude for everything NW did for QPR in a little less than two years. The thing that made me doubt how long he was going to last came before our bad run. I was out at a gig with a group of people, one of whom - someone I'd never met before - was an old pro who used to play for NW. He was full of admiration for him, but said NW cheerfully admits to having no knowledge of tactics - he's a motivator. That set me wondering about a) whether the kind of players we brought in post-takeover - seasoned PL pros who've all worked with tacticians (discounting AF and Steve Bruce, obviously) - would respond to someone whose main modus operandi was "up and at 'em lads", and b) whether you could really get away without tactical nous in the PL. In both games against Norwich we were beaten by a better tactician (at Loftus Road, yes, the sending off made a big difference, but the triple sub lost us the game). I was shocked when Clint Hill ran over to the dug out at the Loftus Road after the subs came on bellowing: "You've got to f***ing change it. It's f***ing five against four. They've got ***king wing backs. You've got to change it." The bench ignored him.
But NW, whatver his shortcomings, will always be a hero of QPR. Last season was the most fun I've ever had going to football, and I'll never forget it. | | | |

If he was going to go, it needed to be now to have a hope, but fook me, TF and AB have taken a hell of a risk!
I echo most of the comments with regards to Neil being a candidate for the Second Coming with the miracle he worked turning us from relegation fodder to champions in 18 months on a shoe-string with Tango and Cash running the show and following through a revolving door that saw Paul 'Total Eclipse of the' Hart pass through and I will sorely miss him. Even after last night's performance, I felt he was still going to keep us up - not mid-table, but 17th or more for sure, and this season isn't all that matters?
Given recent opinion, people have very short memories on this message board - I remember a chorus of 'Give me 17th place at the end of the season now and I'll saw my own arm off' in August. All of a sudden, now we are 17th (but still clear of the relegation zone by three established Premiership sides), NW is gone and some are crowing. Yes, we have TF and his new money, but we're not going for a Champions League spot quite yet.
I won't criticise the board though - I believe they feel that they are doing this in the best interests of the club, but Christ, what a gamble!

It's a sad day because we all wanted Warnock to keep us in the PL. I have mixed emotions though. Yesterday was an embarassment and I have to say that it didn't look like it would get any better based on the last 6 weeks. Only one win against the bottom 10. Not good enough. The form of Norwich and Swansea having kept largely the same squad and style of play doesn't help. If it were your money, what would you do? Unfortunately the quality and level of commitment yesterday when your money man is watching sealed Warnock's fate. Something wasn't right. | | | |

Look if it was only promotion relegation etc you would give him the time, but its £50m investment plus more to come they have to do what ever they feel is necessary to protect that | | | |
