Great display, don't think he made a bad call, especially the big ones.

Right on top of the whole game. Very very good.

Never knowingly right.

He missed Barton kneeing one of theirs in the head, one of the niggly ones, think it was Mclean.

If that was a league game, Kranjcar would have been off IMO but evened up the incredible decision in the first leg to not even give a free kick against that snide little cnt McManaman for trying to split Simpson in two.

would love to see him referee the final - masterclass - let the game flow, didn't get too flash, let a few debatable ones go..... he really is a good luck charm for us.

Best ref display Ive seen for a long time, another ref could have been blowing up every minute but he let the game flow, let it be physical and stamped out playacting

He couldn't wait to book their piece of shit for diving in the box in the first half which was fine by me.

Very refreshing to see a ref let the game flow with fair, intelligent decision-making. All around me in SAR said so.

FUN FACT
who was the referee at our last play off semi second leg (v Oldham, at home)?
Mr Mark Clattenburg.

Who was Oldham's centre back pairing at HQ that day???
Fitz Hall and sir Clint Hill.

Funny old world.

Mike Jones was better on Friday. Yes Clangerberk had a good game but i lost count of the times he told their players about time wasting, which they started on 5 mins, and yet he let them get away with it time and time again. Then suddenly we are winning and he changes his ways and starts running 30 yards to castigate our players for doing what Wigan had been doing for over 90 minutes. Also, EVERY time BZ or Austin received passes with their backs to goal , he never once gave a free kick for the blatant shirt pulling etc.... the time added on was also a nonsense. Then he suddenly found an extra 3-4 minutes at the end when the 4th official said their was 1 minute to add on. 8/10

A first class performance and, like us, may well have an ingrained hatred for the Scum

Only gripe for me was if he booked Carson for time wasting on 10 minutes he could have stopped a whole lot of hassle later on.

It's about as good a refereeing display as I've seen at Loftus Road. Never more than five yards away from any decision he made. No flurry of cards when there could easily have been. Barely a single decision wrong all night. Absolutely superb.

best referring performance ive seen in years and i'd have said that if we had lost as well, a lot of refs would have given that penalty in the first half but he was in a great position to see it was a clear dive

Was thinking the same myself whilst watching game- even when one nil down I was struggling to recall a better refereeing performance ever.

Surely you are contradicting yourself by saying he did nothing about time wasting and then moaning he added on too much time at the end??!!

Is it possible that was for time wasting??

Tell you what tho Ted,I'm glad the lad tried to do do an Ashley Young. If the eejit had stayed on his feet or hopped over Green rather than swallow diving he would;ve tapped it in .

Glad it was'nt someone like Mackie..Mind you Jamie wouldve missed anyway.

When Barton (brilliantly) got back to mop up the one-on-one, Clattenberg missed a shirt pull on the Wigan lad. No fault of his because it was neatly done.

Overall, I thought he was excellent. It could have been argued that Caldwell should've walked for the penalty incident, but I thought that that would have been harsh.

And after being robbed on Friday it was nice to see us get treated fairly last night.
