A lovely day in Pembrokeshire 22:14 - Jan 2 with 3550 views | builthjack | Even on grim rainy days it's a wonderful area. Been today, had a lovely time. Solva for lunch, St David's , Porthgain, then up the coast to Aberystwyth for supper. Just home. Has to be done every now and then. [Post edited 2 Jan 2022 22:15]

A lovely day in Pembrokeshire on 11:39 - Jan 3 with 2234 views | Boundy | Discounting Gower , Fresh water west or Barafundle Bay along with Broad and Little havens probably my favourite western spots in the UK but there's so many to choose from , we're blessed .

I don’t miss Pembrokeshire, for me it was always too far from anywhere, but of course the places you mention are superb places to visit. Best in the country ? I tend tho agree. The two Broadhsven’s were always a great places to visit as a kid.

I spent and still do a lot of time in the area ,over the years I worked /lodged in Pembroke Dock with some great memories some of which cannot be retold for fear of divorce . We love the area maybe because of the pace but because of the diversity/beauty it offers with always something new to see .That's not to say Gower isn't as lovely but its a different in its own way and for that I'm grateful and feel extremely lucky to live in this part of the world

I find it a bit dull these days, kids love it of course but as an adult it lacks a lot to entertain. Pubs are mainly rubbish ( I’ve been all over it). Ok for a few months in the summer, sept being by far the best month when the tourists have gone. Lived in the havens for a few years, maybe I’ve just become to used to it, or over it….love b haven south, marloes, little haven and I always will…..

The Dolphins aren't Tory though, Love Newquay and Aberaeron myself, need to spend some time in the St David areas though, we've often talked about it, but still haven't been.

Try to visit St Davids either late spring early or late summer others wise its a bottle neck of tourists . A trip to either Skomer or Ramsey for the wildlife especially the puffins but they tend to be unreliable in the early spring months but well worth seeing when they settle for the summer months , you can lie across one of the myriad of paths and the blighters will walk across you to get to their burrows , fascinating places.

A lovely day in Pembrokeshire on 20:08 - Jan 3 with 2064 views | Llandeilo | Best fish and chips we have ever had at the shed in Porthgain. Fresh monkfish, catch of the day. Incredible. Bit expensive , about £15, but proper fish, proper chips, home made tartare, loads of everything. Well worth a visit.

. Tidy, uplifting thread. A beautiful part of Wales, yet still not a patch on Gower and The Bay. High % of non-Welsh folk down in Mwnt nowadays mind. And New Quay in the summer feels like the bull ring. All a bit feisty too. A cunning strategy to boot, to ensnare some new West Walian Builthites to the already engorged flock, fair play. . . Gower is fantastic yes. I wouldn't argue with that. I prefer quiet places, winter time is a great time to visit. We often go winter times and walk the coast path. Builthites???? Has Builthy got a gang? [Post edited 3 Jan 2022 20:21]

. Gower and The Bay win it for the splendid combined offering of stunning coastal landscape all within spitting distance of the thriving cosmopolitan metropolis. Builthites - a newly forming breed of sheeple, it seems. Trudging its way back to Mid Wales as we speak. A cunning flock. . .

There are usually loads from Llandrindod, Builth etc on the heart of Wales train to home games. They seem a good lot. Sounds like Builthy has upset you. What is a sheeple? We are lucky to live in such a beautiful country , especially West, North and Mid Wales.

Back in the day we used to launch our rib from Porthgain to dive on a second world war wreck the Dan Beard ( myself not a diver just helping out managing the boat etc.) A gun raised from the wreck was on display in the village, I'm not sure if its still there now?

Andy posts only to denigrate as he offers no true value and as you observe his posts you realise it is the same oft repeated trite rubbish. Dare you oppose his odd position then you are useless to his cause and then deemed twp and forever ridiculed by him...in his own really sad way. Please, continue to celebrate and not denigrate what we have, not like the twp Wingstandwood/AndyCole

Never understood the twp word. Wales is nice in the north east corner bordering the Shropshire lakes. This will be unknown to most on here For beaches ,Lleyn beats all. Not slagging off here ,lifelong, but giving personal opinion. Whistling sands as glorious as it gets and a classy cafe on beach . Stunning. Aberdaron beach looking over to Beardsley is ethereal. Worlds End around Wrexham too. Fine country is Wales
