Paper talk but that would be me done with Welsh Rugby at any level! In other words Cardiff( great region) would just ramsack our team. We have absolutely nothing in common and as regions and Cities polar opposites. We continue to be the poor relation in this area. Honestly I would rather merge with the Turks and that's saying something. At least we would keep first class Rugby in South West Wales and be able to develop players.

The old club game was nowhere near the regional pro level. Those days are gone.

The bottom line is that there just isn't enough interest in Rugby in the city to sustain a team at the highest level without massive subsidy from the WRU, subsidy which they're not getting any more. You can't expect to be a top side when you can barely quarter fill the stadium that you play in.
These days for most people in Wales Rugby is an excuse for a pissup on Six Nations days and nothing more. If the National team start struggling we'll be back at the point where tickets were being sold in Tesco. |  |

I've said before the WRU are itching to get rid of the Ospreys. The most successful region, the only attempt at a region and the side which continuosly supplies the most players to the Welsh system. It should really be Cardiff and Newport merging. Welsh Rugby seems to continuously get itself into a mess. | | | |
