Boxing AJ v Dubois 10:57 - Sep 20 with 6807 viewsthemodfather

i like AJ and have watched nearly all his fights , if he wins he is a 3 time world champion but if he does not win early i am going for a DUBOIS WIN in 8 by KO .
based on recent fights by the boxers, Dubois had Uysk down for 5 mins, but it was called a low blow, disputed to this day, he beat miller and unbeaten rated Hrgovic? AJ fought a non boxer, beat Helennuis who had 2 fights in weeks then failed a drugs test and a non top 10 Wallin. and Franklin, few had heard of. i can't see this being a slow , holding fight, more explosive and hopefully decisive.

well dubois in 5, and he battered a "lost" AJ , how quick did the ground empty after the fight? few fancied DD , i cannot see where AJ goes now, he has been taken to the cleaners twice by USYK, battered by Dubois, ko'd by Ruiz and cannot take a punch anymore.

i recall carl frampton saying he was talking to AJ after the Kiltschko fight and he said AJ commented he doesn't want to go that deep into the well again! that was before Ruiz fight.
if AJ carries on he will be a punch bag for others to be measured against. a bum! he should retire, he has the cash and can do so with some head held up high.
dubois v parker likely next.
rematch? lol

If you were him I don’t see why you’d bother now. Doesn’t come across as someone who loves it (could be wrong), unlimited money in the bank and he can make plenty more without risking his health for a living. Sack it off, take a million for doing Strictly Come Dancing and money for old rope commentating or even better just enjoy the dough and live a great 40-50 years in luxury anywhere in the world.

The heavyweight division from what I can see is very poor , imagine what Mike Tyson in his pomp would do to these bums , make mince meat of them.

Upfront, I’m going to point out that I love Iron Mike, and I was obsessed with him as a 10 year old.

But.

The era he mopped up could well be argued as being the weakest of them all. True, you can only beat who is in front of you, and what was in front of Tyson was an embarrassment. He had to beat James Smith, Trevor Berbick and Tony Tucker to unify the world titles, and along the way defend them against Pinklon Thomas, Larry Holmes, James Tillis, Tyrell Biggs etc… half decent at best (Holmes was past it).

I’m not dissing Tyson, he would have had an impact in any era, but his era was weak.

The HW is, and will always be, the division that gets the attention of Joe Public, but feathers up to MW is where the cream of the crop ply their trade.

Saying that, that ending was pretty incredible last night - AJ was getting battered, thanks to another complacent performance in the 1st,and caught Dubois with a beauty in the 5th - had he the ring craft and smarts, he would have taken a moment to stalk and finish Dubois, but he made the same mistake he did vs Klitscho and Ruiz and got excited and went to pour it on… the way he got KO’d was pretty epic.

I’m glad, and he should retire… I’ve got a feeling he’ll ask for the rematch, get it and win - setting up a 3rd with Dubois.

Even 30 years ago whilst Tyson was in the shovel you had
Lewis
Bowe
Holyfield
Mercer
Ruddock
Moorer
Foreman

Add in Morrison, McCall , Bruno , Tua , Briggs and that’s night and day to what we have seen in recent times

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Does Joshua always keep his hands so low? Seems a major flaw in a boxer's defence.

Poll: How old is everyone on here?

Back to being a posty.

The smart money is on him becoming a deckchair after it was seen how easily he folds.

The grass is always greener.

That era in the mid 90's was very good although Tyson did struggle then and lose to Lewis and Holyfield.

Lennox Lewis the best for me, he'd beat all of this current lot

AJ interviews post fight, we picked wrong opponent , its how it is etc NO you got truly battered bar one big punch in 5th then as he went in, understandably, walked onto a huge return punch and end of.
he seems convinced he still has something at the top level to build on. heavyweights can end the fight in seconds, one huge blow but AJ has never shown an angry side, maybe too nice and always talk of the next fight not the one he has.
is the interest in a AJ v Wilder fight? with no titles on the line?
the era dominated by the KLITSCHKO's was mainly them v pumped up light heavys , numerous fights with samuel peters? who? yeah right. few marquee bouts , ie none fought that 7ft russian, that HAYE beat , cannot remember his name , beast from the east!
