Just signed for Perth Glory in the Aussie A-League. He’s fallen a long way down the pecking order. Shame it didn’t work out for him at the Rs as although he was always injured you could never fault his attitude. Good luck to him

Poll: Where will we finish up next season?

Pearlman came to us from there, so either Luke gave us a glowing reference, or Pearlman didn't listen to all the bad stuff Luke said about us.

That's the perfect way to introduce himself to the fans of his new club. What a goal.

And he really deserves it because he battles on and did never sulk.

Pleased for him. I always thought he was a class player, just very unlucky with injuries. He scored a wonderful goal against Reading when we were flying high - 2022 I think. A move he started and finished. Remember sitting in the Inn on the Green after the match talking to a Forest fan who'd been really impressed with us. Forest were languishing lower mid table at that point. Ironically, they eventually made the playoffs and went up, we ended up midtable. Look at the two clubs since.... Fine margins and all that...

He would have been a very good player for us but his second ACL injury kind of ruined his career.

I think this is exactly right. Some of the comments here are both inaccurate and disrespectful. Against Reading when we won 4-0 he looked the real deal, an attacking, goalscoring midfielder which we have lacked for many years. Then it all went pear- shaped for him and for us. Spurs fans were very sorry to see him leave as they saw what he was capable of pre - ACL. I wish him well.

Okay.... I was never a fan.

Always wondered whether injuries were a result of his half hearted efforts.

Never looked committed to our cause in my opinion.
Was another midfield dynamo who was a master of hiding..... my God we've had so many of those in recent years

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

I don't think he ever hid - say compare to Andre Dozzell.

Whenever he did play I think he usually had a positive contribution, just that his body kept on letting him down.

Poll: How old is everyone on here?

I really think it was psychological Lblock. I think he wanted to commit to tackles more, but had a fear of getting injured again. I think he was just getting his head mentally right after the first ACL when he got done again and that finished him . Madison might come good for us yet but he has no excuse for shirking the physical side of the game like he does

Luke Amos = Lucky man to be a full time pro and earn what he did earn from the game. Has never done any got really at any level.

Can you let me know, when you say Madsen & shirking the physical side, what you mean??

Madsen - QPR player.
Shirk - avoid
Physical side - tackling an opponent

So.....Madsen avoids tackling.

Agreed........to an extent. But tackling is not his game, he is a creator not a 'dog' like Field or Varane.

Well fair enough - to an extent. I accept he is one of our more creative players and can 'pick a pass'. If Celar (or indeed Kelman) is to be a success next season, then Madsen will probably play a part in that.
But I was talking about him in the context of Amos, who I feel was psychologically affected by two serious ACL injuries. Maiden has no such baggage to my knowledge, tends to 'hide' in games and notwithstanding his technical ability , a mid to lower Champ team cannot afford the luxury of a player not being prepared to be a 'dog' when required

I have no idea if Amos was mentally affected by his injuries, no idea at all. What I can say I stopped playing football when ruptured my cruciate ligament. However, I stated playing Vets football some years late and I never thought at all about the injury whilst I was playing again. With all the new technology & all the doctor type people around professional players nowadays I fail to see why Amos would be affected. It is just an excuse why he failed imho. Not sure he was good enough prior to his injuries, he was ok but nothing more.

New season, fresh start for Madsen - he recognised his troubles in that candid interview he gave, he wants to succeed.

He's had a tough one, no doubt, but lets give him a chance to shine this season...

Think that’s basically it. A player who injury-free would have been not a lot more than ok anyway not trusting his body and understandably so.

I suppose we'll never know what his ceiling was or if he reached it. Spurs seemed very excited about him pre his first ACL. But he wouldn't be the first player to show lots of early potential and then not hit the heights expected of him, injuries or not. Speaking of which - not wishing to hijack the thread - but this season is massive for Ferguson at Roma.
