Negative and personal on 20:37 - Mar 18 with 4622 views | WirralDale | I don't like that either. Watching on DAZN, but are they booing the Dale players or the Boston squad for time-wasting and ref for not adding enough minutes at the end?
Negative and personal on 20:40 - Mar 18 with 4563 views | Dalenet | I don't disagree - but I don't see it as hate but more one of frustration. We are so pedestrian across the back again and Boston are loving it. Lets hope Jim shows a bit of a backbone and tells them how it is at half time so we can change the temp in the second half.

"Hate" is just one of those catch-all words that get bandied about, and it's nothing of the sort when fans show their natural frustration It's uncalled-for given our recent run, but why the manager thought it a good idea to change the line-up is another matter. I hope he accepts any criticism for doing so

Yep. Selection rather than how we play is tonight’s story.

Negative and personal on 22:55 - Mar 18 with 3821 views | 49thseason | So frustrating... shuffle the team, drop two points at Oldham, shuffle sgain and concede 3 to Boston at home.. Bring Eel in and make 2 defensive changes to accommodate him, hey presto 2 down in half an hour at home...I started counting how long he spent looking for a pass, 4 seconds, 6 seconds, 7 seconds.. so slow, it just wastes all the movement up front because the early ball never arrives. So 5 points dropped in 2 games just to shoehorn Landell into the side.. so frustrating and probably ultimately very costly. Stop over thinking it Jim, play your best side every game. If Henderson and Kingdon had started we would have 3 more points tonight and a winning team would have kept on winning.... management 101 keep your winners winning...... | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Negative and personal on 02:49 - Mar 19 with 3566 views | reggie_rocket | Previous post excellent. Jim had got it right. Great results then points thrown away at Oldham and at home. I have been a supporter of EEL in the past and would never boo him. The fault lies in selection, and at Oldham, substitution decisions. Jim must take responsibility.
Negative and personal on 09:26 - Mar 19 with 3145 views | RickJones_1973 | I never normally boo players and looking back i did not conduct myself very well. A very frustrating evening due to tactical naivety and ridiculous changes to the line-up. Midfield has no bitte and having our so called Captain Fantastic at the back slowed everything down and put us under pressure like last year when he was in the team. Our skipper is the worst centre-half i have seen in my lifetime of watching Dale since the 70's. He is not fit to wear the shirt and should be given a free at the end of the season. Take Mitchell and Rodney with them to the Rochdale Job Centre ASAP. I have backed JM but he is becoming a broken record and never holds his hands up when things do not work. I want us to bounce back up to EFL but the majority of the squad has not got the desire or balls to do it sadly.

Negative and personal on 09:55 - Mar 19 with 3037 views | EllDale | I can think of several worse defenders. In mitigation EEL made a career out of being a traditional centrehalf. Now, straight back from a serious injury, he’s being asked to play like John Stones. Would the likes of Bob Scott, Gareth Griffiths or even Keith Hill have been asked to convert in a similar manner?

Add Sassi to that list. | | | |
Negative and personal on 10:57 - Mar 19 with 2837 views | 49thseason | EEL was excelent when he came here on loan from Wolves, the years have not been kind to him and his latest injury has clearly taken a lot out of him, he may be physically fit but he has lost some of the speed of thought and sense of urgency required, maybe he is compensating for the infjury or maybe he has simply missed too many games, but to throw him in at the deep end at such a critical point in the season when the team was playing with consistency and getting good results seems irrational. We conceded 10% of the seasons goals against last night, and the reason was obvious to every home fan in the ground. That the team pulled 2 goals back once the substitutions had happened and they started moving the ball around quickly again speaks volumes. It makes you wonder how the 1962/ 3 team managed to play 46 games and reach the 2 legged final of the League Cup without any substitutes allowed doesn't it... [Post edited 19 Mar 11:30]

Yes, it wasn't EELs fault that he was selected to play last night. He's a ageing centre half playing in a different era, the games changed. It sounds like he's very well liked, put him on a coaching course and give him a job behind the scenes.

Appropo of nothing, Spennymoor Town have scored 60 goals this season, only 3 less than leaders Scunnny. as the semi approaches, ought we not get a bit more positive and show more togetherness, 'cos if we don't reach *&^"^%$, then we're all partially to blame.

No-one's underestimating Spennymoor Your point about fan negativity is bollocks. Along with eager support comes the very natural human reaction to voice displeasure when what looks like ridiculous and costly decisions are taken which hinder our progress. That's an opinion, of course, but part and parcel of football
