Chris Willock on 17:30 - Apr 4 by joe90 | You are correct, I do remember the two times he put in effort, haha. I do stand by my comment, I think he had it in him and for whatever reason didn't want to play for us. For context, I did write that comment with Madsen in mind, as it's a fair comparison.Should have mentioned. When Madsen leaves, it will be interesting to see how he get's on at his next club. Maybe there is something about the culture at QPR? [Post edited 4 Apr 20:06]

Norf has often said in his reports that we're "too nice". Dozzell has nine yellows this season and got nine yellows in his final season with Ipswich. Maybe he toned it down with us because he thought that was what we wanted. If there is a QPR culture perhaps we are too passive and lacking devilment.
Chris Willock on 18:00 - Apr 4 with 507 views | numptydumpty | I saw Dozzell here loads like most on here. He was similar to Madsen in that he was mainly where the ball wasn't and shirked out of challenges. He has been different for Pompey. My friend didn't recognise my description of how he was as a player Not sure how Dickie Wells and Armstrong performing for Bristol City this season but they are 7th currently i believe. I know Dykes is a bit part player at Birmingham but they running away with league 1. Appreciate he not changed much but he is in and around the match day squad as is Ethan Laird who has scored also. Darnell Furlong has performed consistently for WBA for long time. We have Kelman performing at Orient and Dom Ball coming on and well, being Dom Ball. Then on the manager front, we let Eustace Leave. He has been a success everywhere he has been since. Even Holloway is back and achieving. Wonder if Les will ever return in some capacity and achieve. I don't think Celar will do much here but I think he could be another that will massively improve elsewhere Obviously there are opposite examples and Willock is prime example but I think the former outweighs the latter. And yes it dates back to the Mark Hughes era onwards and with the exceptional Taraabt/Warburton season, probably as far back as to before holloway got us promoted back to the championship 20 years of cursed history and flaws and charlatans galore who returned to form after leaving W12.. Please next season, can we just be normal. No winning or losing streaks. Bang mid table championship just for one season and yes just solid and halfway decent These rollercoaster seasons are impossible to understand Sorry off track But Willock is one that has retained his latter QPR form..... You forgot Taylor Richards. His form hasn't picked up. But I guess he's still our player. We released a lot of fringe and development squad players in the summer. I don't think any of them have kicked on since, although Ozzy Kakay has landed on his feet with Boavista in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

Chris Willock on 16:10 - Apr 4 by KensalT | "He wasn't a 'friendly ghost' last season at home to Leicester - scored and got sent off. Also showed some grit against Boro, scored a great goal and left the pitch with fat lip and cut chin. He clearly has it in him." Dozzell played 88 league games for us and you can only remember two occasions where he showed some aggression. Looking at his data he got 15 yellow cards while he was with us, which surprised me. But he already has 9 yellows this season with Pompey: https://uk.soccerway.com/players/andre-dozzell/422431/ So they've obviously found a bit of beast within him. [Post edited 4 Apr 16:15]

Or a shitload of mistimed tackles from being 10 yds behind the play. Having the brain and most of the tools but not the commitment is Dozzell's main failing. But I'd stick my neck out and say I'd seen him put effort in for us up to 4 or 5 times. This usually involved him literally shadowing Field and them acting as a pair. It's a head scratcher but there's something about the structure of this club - discussed in earlier posts, that causes players like Dozzell to decide they need to look after themselves by this time of year. Or at the beginning of their contract in his case. And if you add that additional constraint to 98% of our squad being one or more of massively inconsistent, generally ill, psychotic, indeterminately enfeebled, extremely anxious and/or badly scouted in the first place that's one layer too far.
