Team for Oxford 23:17 - Apr 6 with 8627 views | enfieldargh | Nardi Dunne Paal Morrison Fox Field Edwards Colback Varane Smyth Dembele/Yang/Bennie 2 banks of 4, Dunne & Paal pushing up the flanks. Problem is what do Smyth & Dembele actually do. I would hope that a blanket defence/midifield would hopefully keep out the mighty oxford. As for us scoring a goal its the old Smyth Dunne throw in routine or a wonderstrike from one of our mighty midgets. Dembele's corners caused Cardiff's dodgy keeper some problems so set peices need to be bang on It is getting very scary the complete lack of options added to some very inept squad members. Pass the ball to team mates, progress towards the opponents goal and stop treating the ball as if it was coated with gunge

Team for Oxford on 09:15 - Apr 8 by TheChef | For gawds sake how is a defender suddenly going to turn into an effective striker?? For a start you're playing most of the game with your back to goal which is totally different to how you normally play as a defender. It just isn't going to work! |
I'd say that he would be more effective as a makeshift striker than Lloyd, ostensiibly a striker or Bennie. He can actually head the ball in attacking areas and has on many occasions shown good movement in the penalty area to create a heading opportunity. Physically strong too. I'm sure that there will be aspects where he will be found wanting but that's no different to when either Lloyd or Bennie is used. If it's good enough for Arsenal with Merino, dearth of strikers being of their own making, it needs to be seriously considered by us as an interim measure. Previous defenders that spring to mind who were effective as makeshift/converted into strikers: Paul Warhurst and Ian Marshall from the dim and distant past. [Post edited 8 Apr 13:28]

Cook's been offloaded! Thought we should have renewed his contract myself. Seriously - did no-one do a Communications course at any point? Speak in plain English!

Righto. Hopefully can get at least a half out of Kolli tomorrow night. Good luck son!

Team for Oxford on 14:39 - Apr 8 with 1955 views | Hunterhoop | Wonder where we have offloaded Steve Cook. Also, call me an old fashioned fool, but isn’t “pitch based activity” “training”? Our comms aren’t half a load of patronising, conceited BS sometimes.

Mildly interesting perhaps. The club say Kolli is fit, in full training, available for selection. The local journos who get to do a pre- and post-match press conference with the manager say different. Dave Mc said on Friday he'd had a set back. Hounslow Herald guy says Kolli "will be assessed but as it stands QPR have no fit strikers for tomorrow".

Given current form I assume our pitch based activity is largely focused on trivelas and olimpias

Rowett will smell this as a huge chance to basically fulfil his brief, get Oxford safe and collect his survival bonus. They had a terrific result at the weekend against the best away team in the division. They're not a great team but Brannigan and Goodrham is far better than anything we'll be playing in midfield tomorrow night. I think they'll come out and give it the big'un and we'll have to be in the mood to match that and stand up to it, particularly early in the game. Start with the sort of team and sort of attitude we had at Stoke and it'll go exactly as Stoke did right down to the final score.

"Pitch based activity." QPR comms trying to avoid the LFW glossary term "back on the grass."
| "Remember to listen to me but look at her. Don't get it the wrong way round. That would be hideous." |

Almost as if the club are setting up the manager to get pelters online (especially from the Kolli fanboys) when he only has Kolli named on the bench or not in the squad at all.

As with Morrison recently they will probably name Kolli on the bench with no intention of playing him. Back in full training could mean anything, only one or two days.

Onloaded, surely. As opposed to Offloaded, or just Loaded, which is what I’ll have to be to watch the match. [Post edited 8 Apr 17:43]
