Away (School end) today 23:57 - Apr 12 with 2359 viewsthehat

Anyone know why the top tier wasn’t full (especially the top tier by SAR) but we gave Bristol City 2 blocks of the lower tier?

Very strange not seen that arrangement before this season.

That part of the top tier is never sold.

Poll: Thank God The Seaons Over.

I do think the club should look at filling the top tier of the away end up from the ellerslie side to the other progressively based on away team ticket sales - pen them into that side of the upper tier if they only sell 1000 tickets - look at QPR fans filling the other side of the upper tier (accessed via SAR block A if they remove the fence) and block the seats between with netting like they did in the lower tier yesterday.

Better still - replace the redundant corner seats between the upper School end and SAR stand and create some exec boxes/restaurant… looks like Michel Drain Architects have already considered this?… not any current use for those seat clearly.

There are some seats near to Ellerslie that can’t be sold I believe due to the view. The seats some genius away fans will walk up to, take a pic for social media clout about how bad the view is then walk back to the centre of the stand.

My guess was police weren’t happy with things getting a tad heated in the SAR corner in previous games and we have to give 10% which means giving up a bit of the lower tier.

Yep. Not suggesting selling away fans those ‘diabolical view’ seats in the corner - rather just to start filling the away end from left to right using standard view seats, then sell QPR fans any spare tickets from right to left in upper tier and net off the bit between like they did downstairs in the away end yesterday .

How does it work with kiosks and toilets in that stand if it’s a mi of home and away fans?Is it like the loft end where there are two sets of toilets and kiosks?

Good thought but I don't think it works like that. My understanding is we have to offer them a certain number of seats and then they decide whether to accept the full allocation.

Then the visiting club do the selling. They can request more but currently it is unlikely that we can accommodate them.

I thought it was a good idea by the club. We haven't filled the lower tier, and can't with the front seats blocked off, so it means more ticket revenue while still keeping Rs fans in 2/3s or so of that section.

perhaps the club wanted to prevent this......

I know that visually there have been a few empty seats in lower tier this season but it has been coming up as sold out on the ticket plan even for Blackburn at home midweek , so we are selling it out but those empty seats are no shows ,just like the many empty seats in lower loft despite the plan showing sold out or sold down to 1 % .

They have put in a pop up bar and portable loos for the away fans in the Lower school end .
That will be the usual now .
On H & F request I think
