Our away end 17:39 - Apr 25 with 3337 views | loftboy | What’s going on? Seen a few videos of how squashed the concourse is, judging by Saturday it now appears that the council have restricted the upper tier attendance, Swansea had half the lower on Saturday which is now negating the reason why we were only giving the upper . I wonder what the plan will be going forward.?

Our away end on 17:56 - Apr 25 with 3250 views | Watford_Ranger | It can’t be more crushed than Pompey. I assumed it was to have a gap between Block A and that corner of the upper tier.
Our away end on 21:41 - Apr 25 with 2945 views | lovellbubble | My guess is that there will be a few glass fronted shipping containers, like the one above the Y Block, going the corner between the away fans and the A block.
Our away end on 21:45 - Apr 25 with 2877 views | stainrods_elbow | The whole School End situation is a car-crash at the moment and probably needs to be completely rebuilt by an architect who knows what they're doing, so we can actually sell ALL the seats we build. If LR goes on as it is, our operating capacity will be down to 15k before the next season's KO - it's just ridiculous! [Post edited 26 Apr 8:51]

Our away end on 21:49 - Apr 25 with 2916 views | HammersmithR | I find it extraordinary that literally every team in the top 2 divisions have seen their stadiums improve in various ways. Many have moved to new grounds. We on the other hand are faced with the exact stadium we had 30 years ago. Nothing of my match experience has ever improved. My seats in the Loft are like being on a Ryan Air flight. We hear nothing from the club about what their plans are on the stadium. Are we staying in a redeveloped Loftus Rd or are we moving? We can’t keep paying top dollar every season for our season tickets to get such a shoddy product.

I wouldn’t change it for the world as I sit watching a half-full ‘Bet365’ arena built nowhere near anything.

If there was a league table of the 92, of teams who have most recently made significant building development to just 1 or more of their stands , with for example Everton being 1st as they have a brand new stadium , did you know we’d be 92nd . Last! I love LR . I still get ‘that feeling’ when I’m anywhere near it . Like a kid at Christmas. But god it’s uncomfortable. The older I get the more I feel this . A stadium , where it’s prime seats , row A of South Africa Road , you can’t even see the near touchline .
Our away end on 22:17 - Apr 25 with 2803 views | Hoopstar | Been in the School End Lower all season and it's never really that squashed on the concourse - nothing like the way SB gets anyway. I can't be doing with crowds like that so I stay put in my seat at half time (non-drinker) but it's nowhere near as bad as other parts of the ground - and pre-game there's all the space you could ever need. Odd away fans have started getting the right bit near the SB stand again - was surprised they've carried on with the season tickets in the school end lower

We have no money. Where would we go ? And its a great real football ground better than the half empty.no atmosphere shockers. For example Leicester this year just nothing real about it felt plastic and fake same with Brightons ground which I saw this year, nice but just to clean in a weird way. I won't mention the fake hoops reading they have beem relegated and in that void of a ground.

The problem is in the upper tier apparently.

That was around 1980-81. I think it was because the Loftus Road end had no roof at the time so they temporarily moved the home fans to the other end so more noise would be created. I might have totally remembered that incorrectly though!

No, I think you're right - 80/81 was my guess too. I think they changed it round mid-season because, as you say, away fans (Newcastle, Sheff Wed iirc?) seemed to make more noise whereas our supporters singing vanished on the then open Loft End. By 81/82, with both ends covered, we reverted back.

Our away end on 08:02 - Apr 26 with 2149 views | thehat | I thought it might be a H&S issue with the council. Has this been confirmed? I wonder if that will continue into next season or if we need to make some structural improvements.

I remember being in the SA Road for the 0-0 Cup Game v Spurs Jan 81. Spurs (literally about 8K) of them, were in the old roofless Loft. Rangers in new School End. Just under 29K in the ground that day. [Post edited 26 Apr 17:31]
