Thought Chair was very very good in the 2nd Half today in the middle, two or three long passes in behind Burnley defence, takingthe ball and running across the midfield looking for those runners,

If Chair can do this against as good a team as you're likely to see in the Championship, surely he can play this role next season, with Varane one side & Field the other,

Give your best player as much of the ball as you can and this was a real eye-opener today, especially for a team that's lacked this type of playmaker for so long.

Agree, ok but certainly not even very good, let alone very very. Usual rubbish corner.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

A solid 5/10 with the usual awful corners.
5/0 did make him one of our better players today though.

To the OP, that was Chair. Not Lyndon Dykes.

Playing a season of Championship football without a Centre Forward who can wil the ball in the air was a big risk, more by luck than anything else we got away with it this year.

Not sure we will next year. Hopefully Celar comes good.

Not sure Chair is the best player in our team. Whilst he could solve our problems I actually feel he is part of them. He is certainly no playmaker. He tends to slow things down, never releases the ball at the right time, can’t take a corner or a free kick with effect and has a dreadful negative approach of the easy ball backwards. Apart from that he’s ok

You forgot he never looks up.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Fair points but yesterday with space in front of him he got his head up and played a couple of superb long passes,

Cifuentes has clearly coached him to cross earlier this season, leading to his good stats despite not being fully match fit & seeing less of the ball,

No reason cannot move into Madsens position play a bit deeper & continue to release the ball quickly like he did yesterday, especially as unlikely to be crossing from the left to Dunne arriving at the back post next season.

Far from the finished article is our Ilias and that lob into touch in our own half yesterday was the absolute epitome of our performance yesterday .
But seen a few piling in on Ilias over the season and whilst i understand it, it also shows selective and short memories as there has been times in relatively recent times that he has single handedly kept this ship on course.

I don’t wanna sound like Lee Hoos ,believe me, but this club has an abundance of problems right now and Chair isn’t one of them .
We just need to put a half decent side around him and let him play free .

Yeah, to come on in that game after his second spell injured? Thought he did well...

Chair's OK, but I do think some of our fans overrate him somewhat.
Our results are the same whether he plays, or not.

I thought we looked infinitely better when he came on.

Maybe so , but at the moment he’s really all we have got with any sort of invention whatsoever .

Admittedly had his troubles and injuries over the past 2 years so been no where near his best .
Hopefully that’s behind him now.

If something weird does happen and we get an offer for £3m or something and he goes, I shudder to think what we’ll be left with , transfer window incoming or not .

27 years old (28 in October). Theoretically should be reaching, if not at, his peak.

Not been helped by injuries of late but I do wonder if his chance to play at a higher level/"better" club has passed him by.

At least he hasn't done a Willock.

Did anyone else notice midway through the second half Saturday Dunne handed over the captain's armband to Chair - bizarre as he'd been on the pitch for about 20 mins at this point & Jimmy wasn't then subbed

I think you are right . I think he’s had to get used to that fact and made up his mind to commit to us for however long his contract is .

Personally I think we should embrace that .

It's where he should play.
