Yeh it has some really practical uses in our day job as well.
If you come back from a shoot with hundreds of hours of footage, but one contributor/interviewee who's said really brilliant stuff, previously it was a right laborious edit for our video desk. Now you can literally just ask AI to find every bit of that contributor in the footage and it can do it if not instantaneously then pretty damn quick.
It's also, finally, provided a way of getting transcription done properly without transcribing. Every transcription service we'd ever used before was absolute pony and you end up doing it yourself.
But getting it to write articles, stories, essays, message board posts (ahem) it's just so amateur and obvious.
