Dyche on 08:16 - May 12 with 2809 views | PatfromPoole | Of course we wouldn't. Nowhere near wacky enough, and he wouldn't put up with the buying of players for Goztepe's benefit.

Dyche on 08:25 - May 12 with 2792 views | dixiefrog | For me, i can see the current two keeping the job, by and large they have steadied the ship and brought a little pride back into the club. This isn’t the solution I would favour, as I feel that they are too inexperienced and perhaps someone like Tony Mowbray would be better suited. Perhaps SR have the view of spending less time and money on a big name manager, and more on a wholesale clear out of those who have not performed and bring in some decent replacements.

How has he steadied the ship? The Leicester game was possibly the worst of the season. Under him we would get 15 points over the season. P 5 W0 D2 L3 GF2 GA 8 PTS 2

I agree. I think some people's judgements are clouded by the back to the wall approach to Man City, but we were abject against a very poor Leicester team and too many players did not put the effort in. It always makes me ask the question: do we have a bunch of players who are only willing to put the effort in when they face one of the bigger teams? (not just an issue this season but I saw it under Ralph and managers before and since). If they put in the same effort and commitment against teams around us we would have had more points (I still think we were destined to be relegated). Our fighting or do or die spirit has been largely conspicuous by its absence this season with an appalling attitude by some players and I am certainly not fooled by a spirited display against Man C or earlier in our defeat at Liverpool.

What with the current trend for employing managers in their 30's, Dyche would be viewed as a veteran in the managerial stakes. He strikes me as the sort of bloke who would be happy to bide his time for the right offer. And I doubt that would be us at the moment.

I dont think they will get the position as manager, but both will be on the coaching team and i think that is right

Dyche on 13:13 - May 12 with 2392 views | franniesTache | I think Dyche would be exactly the type of manager we need, he'd make us resilient, give us the fight we're lacking and shore up the woeful backline. Plus if we got up he'd have experience at keeping a side up. But it won't be Dyche unless the club get sold before the new manager is hired.
Dyche on 14:13 - May 12 with 2289 views | Ifonly | I can't imagine any squad on earth less suitable to Dyche's playing style than Saints. Our collection of tippy-tappy midgets would give him apoplexy. It would take him 2 years minimum to build a squad that he liked. Would we really want that anyway? Everton's improvement under Moyes shows Dyche's limitations and Burnley's decline towards the end of his spell there didn't do him any favours either. Anyway, he'd choose Leicester if they offered it to him. We're not an attractive option so for us it'll be a choice between a known name with a dodgy record, or a gamble on a young manager. With Spors in charge, I think it will be a young manager.

What makes you think Sports Republic are suddenly going to change their style and go for a well known name( I hope they do ). I think they are more likely to go for someone like Danny Rohl who is young ,relatively unproven but highly rated and will cost less.

Rohl doesn’t want to come to Saints.

He actually said his dream is to manage in the Bundesliga or the Premier league but he didn’t say when so saints would be the obvious step up to that if he did well here . He hasn’t proven himself to manage in those leagues yet . I just can’t see SR going for a big name it’s just not their style .

He also said he has hardly seen his kids in the last 18 months. So he would ideally have a Bundesliga job, or second choice a Prem job. Bookies should adjust their odds. He won’t be coming to us. Why would you leave Sheff Wed for us? They are a bigger club.

Sheff Wednesday are a bigger club I agree but come on they are skint and saints are a premier league club, Sheff Wednesday are not. Danny Rohl would have more money to spend here than Wednesday . A club from the Bundesliga or Premier league would not take a chance on Rohl yet. He hasn’t really proved anything yet although I do rate him with what he did for Wednesday working with peanuts.
