The Troubles in Northern Ireland, began with a civil rights movement advocating for equality for the Catholic minority, but escalated into violence due to sectarian tensions and political disagreements. It'd not at all accurate to say the Loyalists started it, it's far more complicated.

Offocoally about 25l civilians died and the bombing was meant to disrupt troop movements and detroy the railway hub. It was controversial Comparing a new pot with an 80 year old kettle though, not fair in my opinion.
To start with they were dropping bombs from a great height and didn't have the tech advantages of today. Israel has killed over 60k civilians and many of those have been killed by ground forces so it's hardly the same situation and the people who ordered Dresden are long since dead. | | | |
