Mum and dad split up and i was farmed out to grandparents to raise me 10 years to 14 years.
Didnt see east ham dave or mum during that time but i clung on being through the tommy boyd talk show, Clive bull, Alexis korner and derek and clive tapes.
Don't need no politicians to tell me things I shouldn't be,
Neither no opticians to tell me what I oughta see.
I had that and other stuff of theirs on tape back in the day. Gave it to my brother as he hadn't heard it. He put in on in the car when he was going somewhere and told me he almost crashed due to laughing so much when the "this bloke" one was playing.
"So, you're applying for the role of centre forward?"
Just watched “The Wrong Box” . Think it was Film 4? Pete and Dud are in it and have their moments, also a young Michael Caine and various others, but the stand out was Peter Sellers. Really unusual to find a film from that era that not only made me laugh out loud but also with almost none of the more embarrassing tropes of that time.
The old black and white shows from the sixties were superb . Six of the best where Dudley plays the headmaster to Pete’s errant schoolboy . Brilliant .
