In a sense I hope it does go ok for him because the prospect of his wife crossing swords with toxic Cardiff fans on social media if it doesn’t won’t be a pretty sight.

Continuing To Reward Failure BBM on 03:17 - Jun 13 with 5867 views | Sandyman | Should any Cardiff City fan be looking in, BBM was responsible for the worst stat in Rochdale AFC's history: When we drew at home V Ipswich in April 2021, under the "hugely talented" (quote: David Bottomley) BBM, we completed a run of 17 consecutive home league games without a win - the worst such run in the club's existence. That season, until the victory V Swindon, we'd had one win out of 23 home games in all competitions. There's reasons behind why he wasn't sacked well before this "record" was established. He also got a one year contract extension and a pay rise on the back of this failure. Oh my, was RAFC in a mess at that time. Hopefully CCFC's owners will be more diligent than the mercenary controller we had at the time.

I tried to explain some of that on one of the Cardiff City Facebook groups. They're great fans and i remember the wonderful way they responded to us beating them down there one season with a late goal. Just thought I'd return the favour and give them some background 😀 He's been involved with three different clubs, Rochdale, Man City development team, Leicester City and relegated all three. Tippy tappy , posession based football strikes again. [Post edited 13 Jun 5:40]

I still maintain that if fans had been allowed in Spotland that season that the pressure to sack him would have been too great to ignore. Instead he got a secret contract renewal and tried to negotiate a severance payment when he walked out.

The most amazing part to this deal is it seems they've also paid 'compensation' to appoint BBM.....

Continuing To Reward Failure on 14:09 - Jun 14 with 4158 views | Cedar_Room | I’ve been trying to inform some Cardiff fans on Twitter what they’re in for but they don’t want to acknowledge what they have in store. I went back to look at the squad we had and I’m annoyed all over again. This wasn’t a group of hopeless mugs BBM was dealing with but players who’ve gone on to have decent careers. Players from our 20/21 squad who’ve gone on to play in the Prem: Gavin Bazunu Gabriel Osho Championship: Oli Rathbone Matty Lund Jake Beesley Haydon Roberts Stephen Humphrys Conor Shaughnessy Kwadwo Baah Fabio Tavares League One: Aaron Morley Eoghan O'Connell (will be in the Ch’ship next season with Wrexham) Ryan McLaughlin Jay Lynch Conor Grant Tolaji Bola This team was absolutely good enough to stay up and BBM completed fooked it.
Continuing To Reward Failure on 17:32 - Jun 14 with 3932 views | Olddale | The trouble is that no doubt his CV will list all these players and claim that he made them good enough to end up in the prem and championship.

Not only did he get a secret contract renewal, he was the one who let the cat out of the bag at that fateful fans forum where Roger blubbed his way through the last half hour. For those who cannot remember the sequence, the bearded wonder Director was bumbling his way through an answer on BBM and mentioned the end date of BBM's contract. Had BBM kept his mouth shut at that precise moment, the whole history of the club could have been so much different. Instead, BBM interrupted, announcing he had just signed a contract extension, and suddenly the house of cards Roger had carefully built was blown wide apart, leading to a couple of years of EGMs, lawsuits, new Directors etc. It was at that precise moment everyone knew Roger was not a man to be trusted, and the penny dropped he had to be relieved of his duties. No wonder he started blubbing! The Irishman later tried to hold the club to ransom for a golden handshake in a very underhand way, before engineering his move to City Youth. After City, he has left every club he has worked for in a worse position than when he arrived. By the law of averages, Cardiff might have timed it right!

I don't think I've seen a single story or reporter reference the fact he got us relegated. He must have a great PR agency!

Yes I remember thinking at the time, never mind we've been relegated back to league 2 after 7 seasons - at least BBM plays nice football and local lads get a game 👍

Continuing To Reward Failure on 10:06 - Jun 22 with 563 views | EllDale | Apparently the club captain Joe Ralls and last season’s Players Player of the Year Andy Rinomhota have both decided to leave Cardiff. Aaron Ramsey had already left following his failure to get the manager’s job. Not necessarily a direct consequence of the BBM appointment but it won’t make things easier for him. CardiffWatch could be an interesting sideshow this coming season. [Post edited 22 Jun 10:07]
