Beckham and that god awful king on 17:35 - Jun 14 by izlingtonhoop | You're probably correct that most people don't believe in the divine right of kings. The king himself certainly does! Look at hhe embarrassing hocus pocus that went on at his coronation. |
Tbh, I totally avoided it. I don't have a problem with the monarchy as I don't like the alternative we'll likely get, and I love our history and that some of it survives through the ages, but I have no interest in what the Windsors are doing.

The one that gets me is Esther rantzen. She knew, but had no one to tell. Her husband was a high ranking bbc executive.

Beckham and that god awful king on 17:17 - Jun 14 by 1BobbyHazell | I dunno mate, that close, in awe of and protective about a paedophile that prolific and he had no idea!? Can you imagine how thorough the secret service Royal Protection division are about absolutely anyone who gets near them, the in depth checking, snooping and looking for skeletons they would do on someone who gets to spend that much time behind closed Royal Doors. Saville's crimes were widely known in the entertainment industry, the idea that the future King Of England and a whole division of MI5 or whoever runs Royal protection didn't know feels impossibly naive to me. He was a constant, prolific, disgusting criminal who miraculously escaped any investigations, consequences, charges etc. That takes a bit of help. There were plenty who knew about Saville back then. I was reading about him being a paedo with undue influence and connection to the Royals back in the early 90's. But when the full weight of the establishment in all of its many forms is looking to block public awareness of any particular person, event, situation etc it is, and always has been, extremely efficient at curating mass opinion in the direction it desires. Charles - Saville, Andrew - Epstein. Two brothers ending up best mates with two of the world's most notorious Paedophiles (and paedophile ring enablers). What are the odds? I blame the parents! |
Andrew eh? long time unemployed, long time unemployable and long time repulsive and rude human being currently living rent free with his ex wife Sarah ferguson at Royal Lodge, a £30 million property (owned by his bastard brother) in the heart of Windsor Great Park in Berkshire. How nice and cosy, mean while one of Andrews mates Ghislaine Maxwell Is doing 20 years In the cooler. Took one for the boys there Girl.

Beckham and that god awful king on 18:33 - Jun 14 with 1804 views | colinallcars | I imagine if there were a plebicite tomorrow, most people would vote to retain the monarchy. The Queen Mother was at a prize giving at my primary school. As she said “jolly well done”, I noticed an unusual smell which I assumed was what rich people smelt like. Years later I realised it was malt whisky.

Well that's fair enough, as for our history yes I've read so much of It because It's Interesting. I can't put my head around ordinary people having to bow and curtsy in the presence of royalty. I find It all repulsive. Each to their own as ever.

I would never bow or kneel to anyone. And I won't shake the hand of someone I don't like, which has led to 'conversations'.

Beckham and that god awful king on 19:54 - Jun 14 with 1642 views | colinallcars | Well, some would say that having the monarchy has a stabilising effect on the political spectrum. It's said the Queen wanted to refuse Harold Wilson's request to form a government. I think wilson was our best peacetime PM. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I think the knighthoods some are for being outstanding and some are for simply being a public figure. It's something that passes me by. Not really concerned...

Just read 'the white ship', about Henry 1, and the succession crisis. He was a king that brought peace to the realm, after William and Rufus's excesses. He liked his hunting grounds. Had the feet of some wood gathering peasants he found in one cut off. Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime. Feet. God's getaway vehicles.

Beckham and that god awful king on 17:33 - Jun 14 by stowmarketrange | Maybe you’re right and maybe you’re wrong. Its something we’ll never find out how much was known about Savile while he was still alive, and that is a shame that it took him dying for people to be believed. |
Savile was left alone when he was alive as he would’ve brought down a big number of very prominent people. It was well known within the circles what he was up to. John Lydon got banned from the BBC for saying he’d like to kill Savile in a BBC radio interview which was never aired. Paedophile rings go to the very top.
Beckham and that god awful king on 12:03 - Jun 15 with 935 views | derbyhoop | Seems a shortage of monarchists on this thread. Ironic that the post coincides with NO Kings demos in the USA, where more people turn out to oppose King Donald than go anywhere near his birthday military parade.
| "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one's lifetime." (Mark Twain)

As with all these things, there are four questions: Who knew? What did they know? When did they know about it? What did they do? Invariably the answers are: Many. Much. Early. Nothing!

I'm very pro monarchy. The alternative would be President Starmer, Johnson or the worst, Blair. No thanks.

It wouldn't because the UK doesn't have a presidential system and would be very unlikely to adopt one were the monarchy to be abolished. Most likely there would be an elected head of state to step into the King's almost entirely ceremonial role with perhaps a few tweaks of the responsibilities and duties. Executive authority would remain with the parliamentary system. I really don't understand the mindset that an unelected leader is better than an elected one.

It may not work well for much of the time but at least they can be 'unelected', which is more than you can do with a monarch.
