Yes very sad Frannie. I Feel for you .

As mentioned before I knew Elijah well he played football with my son for about 4 years . His Dad Nick and I used to run the line and sometimes ref the games. Top bloke Elijah.

Very sorry to hear this. Not sure I joined this forum in time to see him. But I did see tributes at SMS for the young chap. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Doesn't seem a year ago! Miss his genuine input in to the forum not only on the LOTG, but his other worthwhile posts

Tragic. He was a credit to this board, the club and clearly, his friends and family. Such a shame.

I’ve been speaking to Nick the last couple of days, as you can guess it’s been a hard period for him but I know it gives him comfort to think his nipper is still remembered.

I never met him personally but I do remember the rather lively debates he got involved in on here.

Sometimes it was a refereeing decision or his defence of Alex McCarthy! ..you could certainly tell he had a passion for Saints..bless him.

Yes it must of been hard for him as it was Father’s Day too, I sent him a message yesterday.

My last memory of Elijah was when I bumped into him coming down the Itchen terrace after our West Brom win in the play off semi final. I gave him a hug because we’d done it ! we were at Wembley.!

That was the last time I saw him.

RIP Elijah.

For what it’s worth I know he thought highly of you Nick, I think the thing for him was despite being 30 odd years younger than most he went with, and despite his autism, everyone treated him like just another mush (even if he did think I was insulting him the first time i used that phrase to him!).

I saw video one of my mates put together in tribute yesterday which I think Nick shared on facebook and it was the best summary of the nipper, his enthusiasm and almost innocence that most of us don’t have about the game anymore because let’s be honest we’re jaded, cynical, middle aged b*stards now.

And that’s how I remember him, he was the best of us, because life hadn’t yet ground those bits out of him

Well said and I think that encompasses everything that those who knew him would want to say in a nutshell.
