Latest WLS podcast - Koki Saito 21:26 - Jun 24 with 2982 views | Markofthegrove | Dave Mc has been quoted saying Saito has two years remaining on his contract at Lommell and that discussions are going with Lommell. Dave also thinks we shouldn't sign him and we should go for more physicality in that area. I do agree with the latter, but I would swap Saito for Dembele in a heartbeat (who i do not rate but will give him time as he is so young). Im landing on Dave's side here. Lovely little player, but we do need more physicality and he will cost us a pretty penny as the city group will want their skinful from us.

Latest WLS podcast - Koki Saito on 21:34 - Jun 24 with 2871 views | MedwayR | I'd definitely keep Saito if possible. I also don't get the lack of appreciation from many on this board for Dembele. 25 games (15 starts), 3 goals, 4 assists - not a bad return, just need to keep him fit.

As I say happy to give him time as the injuries never helped and he is young. He had a few goal involvements but also had more than one game where he was hooked at HT. We never once looked a balanced outfit with him in the side. That's my worry.
Latest WLS podcast - Koki Saito on 22:26 - Jun 24 with 2536 views | Jigsore | Saito was fine and good in spurts but I don't think we need another player with his profile right now. I highly doubt he goes to another Championship club and starts pulling up trees.

Latest WLS podcast - Koki Saito on 22:36 - Jun 24 with 2471 views | Loft1979 | ? I think the Petersborough lad Poku has probably been sounded out as a more bankable option. I also think the interest in Poku speaks to lack of faith in Dembele or belief he needs competition.
Latest WLS podcast - Koki Saito on 22:39 - Jun 24 with 2438 views | stevec | Really liked Saito but at the same time, wouldn’t want us to pay to sign him. Too easily dispossessed which was a nightmare with only two in central midfield. If we go three across centre mid or two up front just don’t think he’s effective enough to fit in any of the remaining positions.

Totally agree re: Dembele. However, he won't be playing regularly at championship level if he continues to neglect his defensive duties. whether they be when playing in a wide position or more centrally. His ability on the ball isn't the issue, as evidenced by those impressive numbers in his first season at this level. Might be me, but he needs to get physically stronger and I thought that his long injury lay-off may have been an opportune time to start down that route. Like Saito, he is too easy to dispossess/knock off the ball. [Post edited 25 Jun 7:38]

Latest WLS podcast - Koki Saito on 07:38 - Jun 25 with 1745 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | To lightweight. We need power and pace something we all know on here we lack. We never seem to stretch the opposition, so a big no from me. I'd be looking to offload Kolli as well. He's not a winger, not a striker due to the lack of power and pace. Maybe a 10, but Chair and Dembele are ahead of him, I just don't see where he can play.

Latest WLS podcast - Koki Saito on 07:38 - Jun 25 with 1745 views | FDC | On Saito, I love watching him play, I think I posted somewhere before that there's something very 'Rangers' about him. But, being cooly objective, I wonder whether I'd be as keen on him if he didn't play with such a smile on his face and wasn't generally such a character? Probably not to be honest. I'm not necessarily saying we shouldn't value those things -- watching football is supposed to be fun after all -- but I wouldn't be massively surprised if the data suggests he's perhaps not a huge asset. And if Dave Mc is correct, which i'm sure he is, that he's actually under contract still and would demand a fee, it's probably correct to look elsewhere, given the lack of physical presence across the front with the likes of him, Chair, and Smyth in the team. Going back to the pod, i was interested to hear Dave's slightly dissenting view on Kolli. Again though, he's probably right that he'd have a much stronger case if he went out and did a Kelman this season. But from what we hear that doesn't sound like it would be a welcome scenario from his camp. [Post edited 25 Jun 7:39]

Think squad not team. Saito for me is a good squad player who scores some good goals. Wouldn't enter my mind to sell Kolli right now because hopefully he will continue to improve. I would sell Charlie Kelman. For years we have heard that he is the best finisher in training and last season he was amazing at Orient. Natural goalscorers like Charlie are hard to find. Next season we should really build our team around him, play to his strengths. But in my opinion we won't do any of the above and continue to p1ss around with him meaning the interest in him and selling price will will slowly decrease.
Latest WLS podcast - Koki Saito on 08:15 - Jun 25 with 1596 views | daveB | I'm with Dave and Gallen on this one, good player did well but I'd look for a bit more pace on the left and wouldn't bring him back

Jimmy Dunne aside , it would have been the same outcome if we’d have just boarded the place up after the Burnley game and took the chains off again yesterday. Unless of course, he knows the much more than he’s letting on ?

Did you watch him on his return from injury? Poor for whatever reason. Lightweight, weak defensively, overall very poor. But there is a player there. We can carry one like that, but no more in the Championship. I hope he comes good, but he did not have a great season overall. [Post edited 25 Jun 8:38]

I don't always see this barometer as players coming in. I think some of the outs, like Anderson are also positive moves, which will free up wages for new squad members, this is all progress in my opinion

WLS attitude towards reporting has changed alot. One minute he is posting Marti's dissenting sly digs at Nourry on a weekly basis. Next minute he is all in again. Wonder if a deal has been made with the club or something. I mean he will have bills to pay.

I only get to watch QPR on tv but it was pretty clear that Dembele was not close to the same player when he came back. He kept running into defenders while in posession almost always losing the ball, hitting the deck and waving his hands around at the officials looking for frees he is never getting . His pace and skill are a welcome sight but he is just not strong enough to battle those giants and his decision making is not great IMO. Saito is the better option of the two in relation to team play despite a lack of protection also from officials and his unselfish play is what the new manager is looking for .
