Just read some wally linking Birmingham with his signing but unlikely to get him as they say they have a proven championship right back in Ethan Laird already there.
Playing now as right back but obviously as we know that could be right wing also. We do have Jimmy of course, and just signed this aussie guy, but any thoughts here.

Yep, prized away from Turkey and Saudi, two very rich leagues. Loaned in Beadle and Tommy Doyle which I imagine would command a decent fee. Bet their business is far from being over. Their fans have already guaranteed playoffs whilst we will be struggling on the other end of the table. Let's see!
Demarai Gray played 50 games in Saudi and managed four goals and five assists.

Shocked with this one. The move in Turkey collapsed due to an increase in wage demands. Brum must have offered him a fair wedge especially as it's a free transfer. Prem in next few years or bust with these, I'll keep saying it
I assume they're trying to power through the division in one year so they're not impacted by FFP. Great if it works, risky if not.

I don't know how their spending from last season gets factored in to all of this but they spent a huge amount by L1 standards. They won't be able to just bully their way through the Championship like that.

The Birmingham owners are just star shaggers. They were doing fine two years ago until they decided they needed some Wazza in their lives.
Let's see if Bright and Grey can still actually run before we start creaming our pants at what they're going to do in our little league.
They haven't done much in the last couple of years playing in soft leagues.
Will they still fancy it on a cold wet Tuesday night in Stoke.

Osayi Samuel was starting for Fenerbahce in the Champions League. I think that is testament to his quality. Additionally, I'm not sure the Turkish League is a stroll in the park. I think he will have become a better player for it.
I wouldn't be surprised if Birmingham continue their rise and go straight up.
On the other hand, I'm not seeing any other teams that are likely to dismantle the status quo.
I think it will be tight again from top to bottom - and I'm looking forwards to it

Seems to be the way doesn't it? Go down to League 1 and make the most of the relaxed FFP rules and then go for Prem within the 3 year window. Worked out for Ipswich and Sunderland

Yeah I can't get behind downplaying BOS. Had quite a transformation into a RWB with European experience like you say. And can he do it vs Stoke? Well...
I'd share doubt about Demarai Gray. 0 goals 0 assists in 24 games in the Saudi league isn't an exciting stat.

Fenerbahce played four games in the CL last season.
He started both games against Lugano but was subbed off in both.
He didn't start in either game against Lille but came on as a sub in one of those games
Between those four CL games he played in three and totalled 196 minutes:
Be interesting whether Birmingham see him as a RB like Fenerbahce (where they have Laird, whenever he can be arsd) or on the wing where he played for us (where they've already added Gray this summer).

Ain't that the truth
To be honest I just don't get why we are buying into the hype from a rival club.
Looking at how many of our flops the Blues have picked up in the last couple of years you can't say their recruitment has been that great.
Ipswich and Sunderland went from L1 to the PL by investing in young hungry talent. Not by picking up "names" with one eye on their retirement fund.
Birmingham buying mercenaries absolutely isn’t new, proven when they bought all of ours.
But I'm not sure what bringing up BOS' European games proves, 28 games played in the last 2 years, it's not exactly a negative judgement on the player. We'll see how much they all want it when the season starts

There are so many European club competitions nowadays I'm thinking of slipping a few appearances on to my CV. I doubt anyone would notice.
Spurs and Man Utd got to a European final and they've had a car crash of a season. Spurs won the thing and still sacked the manager.
No offence to Bright or Fenerbahce but if you play for one of the wealthier clubs in one of the smaller European leagues you are all but certain to get a lot of European football under your belt.
Doesn't alter the fact that Jimmy Dunne scored more league goals last season for a relatively poor club in a fiercely competitive league than Bright managed in the last three league seasons combined playing for a club where most of the opposition is so weak you might as well be playing traffic cones.
I've got nothing against Bright or Birmingham. And I wouldn't be surprised if Birmingham pulled a marquee signing out of the hat before the transfer window closes. But I'm still not buying their hype.

I appreciate it should be taken with a massive pinch of salt as these things are never public, but one of the click-baity sites says he was on circa £50k-per-week in Turkey.
Birmingham paying anywhere near that will see them in bother sooner or later.

This is all guessing but ...
Stansfield cost em £15m last season, any addons on that would have been triggered with promo. And then Dykes was bought for £1m just before that from us. Alfie May must have cost £1m as well.
Add in all the other transfers; let's say they spent £20m last season. Assuming no other losses from the previous season, £16m puts them at £36m in losses over the last two seasons.
Lets say they spend another £10m this season but the new monies keep costs down so, still £35m losses (and that's being generous).
So, this season they need to go for broke, otherwise they will be broken by FFP in the season after. And have to sell to get out of it, which could be a plan. They do have Stansfield they can always flog for £10m and take a £5m loss (but he got them into the Champ again).
Unless .... they get relegated back to L1 again :P
I am so glad we sold Dykes, it was the right decision with Armstrong being sold as well.
People will be shocked as we need to sell Chair now for £10m at least, as he's getting on, he will be 28 in October, and now he's at his prime. Time to cash in. Sad to see Chair go, but it's time.
zzzzzzzzzz

Word is Brum buying Ex Celtic forward Kyogo from Rennes for £10m next. Good player and all but 30 odd with no sell on and again must be big wages. Profit and Sustainability auditors licking their chops.
