Possible speeding incident they think in his lamborghini. Ofcourse it's horrific whatever caused it.

Been filming Testimonials all day , starting in his first club, where they have renamed the academy in his honour since 2022. The groundskeeper who actually encouraged him to join in with the others, Diogo was actually at the swimming pool waiting for it to open for his lessons, when they kicked the ball out of the park, he controlled it and kicked it back... the rest is history.
Also went to the stadium of both Paços de Ferreira where he really started his career and finally the stadium of Penafiel, a second division team, where his brother played ... all in all a very sad day here in Portugal | | | |

I’m clearly a harsh person , but I find this Jota reporting completely over the top, he was just a footballer. 150k people die every day, most not speeding in a sports car. The bbc website has had 3 days of live feed reporting, while the news on the breakfast show this morning led with this story for more than 5 mins. They then briefly mentioned the flooding in the states that killed 20 odd people including children. I just find it all bizarre. |  |

No it's not harsh. Ofcourse it's tragic, but it was a millionnaire footballer speeding on the road in his lambourgini. I hope in future, these millionnaire footballers think twice about the consequences for themselves and their families. We don't want any further tragedies.

Not just consequences for themselves and their families. Every year speeding drivers cause the deaths of mutiple other people. I've had a few speeding tickets in my life so I'm not perfect, but I've never gone way over the speed limit or risked people's lives. They say this was likely "high excess of speed over the permitted speed of the road". To me that is on a par with drink driving. So I have sympathy for his family but not much for him. | | | |
