You can have a look at the recent update sit down with Darragh MacAnthony by way of comparison (and this is only addressing the transfers).
I'm not saying we need to be this level of granular with the details, but this is what open and honest direct communication looks like from owners that want to treat their supporters like adults.

I don't know about most Chairmen of football clubs but I'm guessing this guy is an outlier. i don't think most of them are so open and comfortable.
I can see Tony Fernandes as a reason why this Board aren't so open. I remember thinking I wish he'd shut up when he put the fanbase into meltdown with various ill-judged comments. Also you get a lot of people saying sack the Board on SM without any provocation. I'm not sure I'd give them too much extra material.
Even when they do explain things you get someone accusing them of lying.
Finally a lot of what they could say is probably subject to commercial/legal sensitivity. For example I think we shouldn't know too much about how transfer negotiations were conducted for commercial reasons. I don't think we'll ever know the truth about Marti for legal reasons, however much some people claim to know the facts. |  | |  |

I would pretty much take the club statement at face value. The past few seasons on the pitch have been a roller coaster, winning streaks, losing streaks, the standard cup exits, not a fortress Loftus Road.
Bearing all that in mind our fans support has been amazing, unwavering, turning up in numbers both home and away. The removal of a very popular Head Coach has not impacted our season ticket sales which are close to a sell out.
So bloody well right that the club should acknowledge this.

I'm glad we are actually taking the Women's team seriously and are ambitious.
Disappointed that they didn't address whether they would be fixing any of the hand-dryers on in the South Africa Road stand men's toilets that have been blowing out cold air for more than a decade. Perhaps if we get any money from the EZE sale? |  |

Well my take on the Marti portion of the statement was that they are playing the 'injured' party in the gardening leave situation. Reading between the lines, Marti or at least representatives of Marti approached another club about upcoming 'opportunities' so they had no choice about banishing him to the garden shed. They didn't want to, but Marti gave them no choice. 'honest guv, I didn' t wanna do it, but we were only thinking about the club. |
Which, if true, and it's clearly not being contested by Team Marti, the club was 100% right to do. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, for Marti. |  |
