He also said that a couple of 'more familiar names' may not appear for 'different reasons'. Probably the subject of bids from elsewhere and being kept on the sidelines to prevent injuries.

Pure speculation on my part, but I'm guessing we lost out on McNicholas going to Forrest Green and Wright going to Accy etc. I appreciate City didn't want to loan him out until his contract was secured.
Jim's new mantra seems to be "competition", so hopefully he'll get the second keeper he's after and Whatmuff will have time to adjust to men's football. [Post edited 12 Jul 14:55]
