60 years ago we were not allowed to play football in the majority of Welsh schools. We have moved on as has mens football, qualifying for tournaments and reaching a semi final. The women will follow but it will take time. |

On the way to success there are big defeats ans set backs. Girls having the chance at semi pro/professional will change the landscape.

The womens game is growing. At a community level having women and girls playing is great. In my community we have women training that wasn't seen at all 10 years ago . Grass route football is catching up. After 60 years of injustice the game deserves to be supported until those training wheels come off. Neil Mooney is all in by the looks of it. I might not watch the game at the moment, but having a new 3 month old granddaughter. That is pumping her legs already. I might become a super fan one day.
