They kept the promise of a 20mph speed limit.

What about the ones that weren't in their manifesto .

"In a free society, the State is the servant of the people—not the master."

I may be wrong, but if there's a mess to fix, it's generally accepted that the best thing to do isn't to make the mess considerably worse.

Blaming the Tories doesn't wash any more. It wasn't the Tories who ramped up the taxes on employment, who started the capital flight, who failed to convince even their own members that maybe it isn't the best idea to let the sickness benefit bill keep spiralling out of control. That's all on Labour.

Labour are doing what Labour always do. Taxing and spending. Problem is there's not much left to tax but they keep spending anyway.

As I said, short memories.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

The problem is Labour made an idiotic pledge not to raise taxes on working people. They should have been honest and said they needed too, their majority was so big they would have been elected anyway even if they lost some marginal seats.

The fault does lie with the Tories because their legacy of national debt and public service is shocking.

The left of the Labour party need to take an honest look at themselves and the country and allow Starmer to make the welfare changes we desperately need. It may well be that he's too weak as a leader, but I don't see an alternative.

Labours ideology is driven by those who think they are hard left but in reality are the champagne socialists of Islington. The do wells who sneer at the working man with a do as I say not as I do attitude. Utter chunts the lot of them.

No, a long one. Long enough to remember what things were like before Blair got hold of the country, why the laughably labelled "Far Right" Tories were basically just a continuation of him and his tactic of disguising unsustainable tax and borrow policies as "investment".

Of when Labour demanded that the already catastrophically expensive and unnecessary COVID measures that have basically killed the economy went further and harder.

You saw my post and mistook it for a defence of the Tory record. They were as bad as you would expect a centrish party masquerading as a right wing one to be and deserved to lose. More than a year into a Labour Government who have done nothing but stamp their foot down on the accelerator for anything that isn't working and your choice is to defend that as them somehow taking steps to arrest the decline?

Labour depend on people like you to excuse them every single time by saying "But the Tories!". It's why Wales keeps voting them into power despite a quarter of a Centuries worth of failure against every measure that matters. Your expectations are so low you will forgive them anything.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Labour stopped giving a shit about the "Working Class" decades ago. Now they're the party of the benefits class, the civil service or the middle class dilettantes. Anyone who actually gets off their arse to try and earn a good living and boost their family welbeing is a target for them now.

👆 this. I was going to say something similar in my next post. They would rather keep people poor to point the finger of blame at those who are trying to or have bettered themselves.

In fairness I can remember the mess Blair and Brown left, and the following Tory government blamed them, we just go round in circles with each blaming the other when they are both as bad as each other

Sometimes we blame them for the wrong things.

Blair and Brown had the global financial crisis, the last Tories had Covid and now Starmer has Russia and Trump.

The Global financial crisis happened quite late on in the existence of the New Labour Government. We'd spent ourselves into a mess well before that.

There were issues to be sure, but the global element was massive.

Tories then went all austerity the the pandemic came along and put the tin hat on things.

Now we’ve got Labour fiddling round the edges and Trump comes along and destabilises everything. Constantly.

I dont recall Trump destabilising Rachel reeves decision to increase taxes, nor for Starmer to
go to the French limp wristed making ridiculous agreements ,nor selling sovereign islands or a myriad of other deliberate decisions to destabilise an already destabled country.

Some of his decisions took away any head room she created.

The island sale was well down the road from the Tories and can’t be placed at Labour’s door.

The deal with the French I’m still hopeful for long term 🤞

I know that Plaid wants to give illegal immigrants free access to buses. Buses that young girls and women use daily. Makes me 🤮.

Have you been on a bus in Swansea recently?

For starters no illegal immigrants will ever get free access to buses.

Secondly plenty of women and children use them now, why would letting immigrants (illegal or otherwise) getting on them for free be a problem?

How do you distinguish between someone who flew in ,travelled by official means presenting their passport and relevant documents to the UK authorities and those who arrive by small boat making sure they had no such official documentation?

Any party using the term " working class" or working people needs a kicking
It merely stigmatises folk and sticks them in a file
All parties do it

This country has failed to lift the class veil
We can't rise if we don't

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Ever?
"Secondly plenty of women and children use them know"
This is the main reason. We shouldn't be encouraging these illegal immigrants.
