Inoussa and Cabango 19:20 - Jul 26 with 1116 views | KeithHaynes | Along with Santos we are piling up concerning injuries. I can assure you this is being addressed. This is not ideal. Cabango was precautionary but he has had a set back and needs more treatment and a scan, Inoussa situation is so quiet I’m also concerned.

Has two training sessions a day from a standing start pushed the players over the edge.
Inoussa and Cabango on 21:53 - Jul 26 with 788 views | swansjack84 | Do I have concerns? YES! I'm I being over dramatic? Proberly! We have signed some good players, done business early and alot of positivity around the club. The issue is clear, depth. On paper when all are fit the starting 11 looks good. Issue is Sheehan has clearly quickly realised our youth players are not up to first team selection. With the injuries it's highlighted how in dire need we are for Defenders, Left Back, Striker etc. I'm not calling for Sheehan to go that would be madness, but I do think we are gonna have a bumpy start of the season and he is gonna have to show the resilience and togetherness to get through the start of the season. Would I be panicking now if I was the club. In truth yes. If its loan players or permanent we cannot go into the first game with Fulton in defense. I see us being stronger as players get used to the championship and fitness and injuries get less. But it's clear we are paying for the poor recruitment from the past that has left us short on all fronts. I'm not for one to point fingers but, sadly more pain is to come before we smell the roses again.

Its called pre season training. Have you ever participated in pre season training? If you had you would know that its a beasting and by the sounds of it o'dea is a right b@stard. [Post edited 26 Jul 22:26]

I'm sure there is a ton examples of this happening at clubs, but correct me if I'm wrong this happened to some extent with Klopp when he came into Liverpool. Players doing endless extreme sessions and then players picking up injuries and looking dead on their feet. I understand the longterm goal of doing what O'Dea is doing but it's gonna be another transitional period for us this season.

resulting in Eom, Cabango and Inoussa injured how many other sides have players injured as a result of presason training? I remebver you were critacl of Saregnt MAjor Duff Players are gusually given a training programme to follow during the close season so as they dont need a "crash" fitness regime on returning to training. Amatuer teams may have this as players dont train during their holidays but not so pro players.

Id trust O'dea before you. I was never critical of duffs pre season training, every pre season should be tough, as it prepares you for what is ahead, plus not all players come back to pre season that have adhered to the programme they have been given thats why they all have tests. Its been mentioned several times that sheehan and o'dea want the squad to be mega fit, if certain players pick up niggles they are withdrawn for precautionary measures ala cabango and eom, santos' and inoussas injuries happened during a game, there is nothing that can be done about that. This is a double edged sword. Williams and Martin’s sides were completely lacking competitive match fitness (mainly because their styles were more walking football). Do I prefer the approach of O’Dea? Hell yes! It’s not as if inoussa snd Cabango have career ending injuries they will be back soon enough. Conversely unfit players are far more likely to pick up career ending injuries than those who have been worked harder. O’Dea has a very good reputation in the game. Let’s cut him some slack. His methods may mean us being sharper and having enough in the tank to draw games we may lose and win games we may have drawn.

Another common sense post. Im sorry to say that its obviously that there are a few posters who have never played competitive sport before so therefore do not understand the basic mechanics of sports. You HAVE to push yourself in training, it prepares you for the sport you play and in pre season its even more vital, as ive said eom and cabango have picked up niggles so therefore aren't being risked in games and are probably are doing rehab for their niggles, inoussa and santos were injured in games, there is nothing that you can do to stop injuries in games.

Agreed ... but we may pay a price. That is not O'Dea's fault it is the fault of those before him. This could mean that the run before Xmas will not be great but come january we should be fully up to speed... and that's not a bad time to put in a good run.
