looks like it’s going to be harder to resell and less money, only able to sell when general admission sold out,and you only get 75% of 1/23 per season ticket and not match day price like before

In retrospect, Twickets as the official reseller was great, wasn't it?

I think it was 75% last season. We managed to sell our two twice out of three attempts. The sold out restriction is going to make it more difficult but I can understand the club wanting to maximise their revenue.

We are going to miss seven this season, I think, so we hope demand is high.

I get why the club are doing it even if i personally don't like. Season tickets are guaranteed seats and you want to sell incremental seats not reimburse ST holders for games they can't get to.

I liked twickets as a season ticket holder, selling for low prices, sometimes a tenner after commisson, better than it going to waste and someone who cant afford normal price could fill my seat . Then, when my circumstances changed, I used it to buy one, on the odd occasion I could make it. Last season, without twickets being available, gave it a miss. I understand the club want to get every penny from their supporters, but this latest change ain't encouraging me to go back. But I will of course... got the Charlton game pencilled in, despite the early k o

I get to less and less games each year as a ST holder. Mainly due, I guess to family, filial ( look it up ) and health reasons.
I've never really thought about resell matters, I suppose I think of it as a donation to the club.
I must be bonkers I guess….!

The point is that ST seats are non-transferable and the club has, each season, imposed tighter restrictions on mechanisms for reselling.

Now I can't officially sell my seat to someone else, I can't even give it away (in fact, legally I don't actually 'own' it at all) - I can't think of any other ticket or purchase that behaves like this.

I think Clive is in enough bother with the club hierarchy as it is without setting up a shadow ticket sales operation....

Hmm...thats a shame as i pretty much know i cant make a large chunk of games this year.

If anyone is interested in buying a match day ticket of a semi regular basis from me, for a reduced rate (season ticket priced divided by number of home games, send me a DM.

I have a season ticket and have just moved abroad. will be back for some games and have family members going to some but it will be empty a bit.

Let's put some perspective on this. The only thing that has changed is that tickets for resale won't be available until general admission has sold out. The rest of the terms remain the same.
That seems reasonable to me, albeit I may not have as high a success rate as last season (66.6%).

The most likely result is that there'll be more empty seats for those games that don't sell out.

? The ticket prices are the same to purchasers on the ticket exchange i.e. face value. So if it doesn't sell out, it's not going to make any difference and if it does the club pockets an extra 25% on any sales from the exchange. The seller gets 75% as they did last season.

Less choice, lower sales. But especially compared to the Twickets route where games with lower demand led to more tickets being available at lower prices which then get bought and used.

I don't think I ever bothered to put ours on Twickets, so seats usually remained unused, when we were away.

I would have thought if people were looking for seats, they'll usually settle for what's available.

Yes, it will effect choice and it would be annoying if you have purchased through the box office and then better seats become available when the exchange opens.

However, from the club's perspective it should provide a little extra margin without an additional increase on the season ticket or match day price.

Just written to them on this.

I feel I must register my disappointment at the new arrangements for ticket resale. Whilst I recognise that this is a great service for fans who cannot attend games, and as a ST holder living overseas I do benefit from the service. I am a ST holder in SAR platinum.

Last year I got 75% of the match day price, typically £33 per game. The club got an extra £11 of revenue for facilitating the sale. Plus the usual ticket admin fee.

This year, I will get 75% of the actual per game cost of the season ticket, which for me will amount to £23.25. However, as match day prices in South Africa Road are £46 per game, the club will benefit to the tune of £22.75, almost half of the sale price.

Whilst I recognise that last year I was making a profit on the sale, I believe that the balance has shifted too far in favour of the club. I understand other clubs provide a similar service, with 100% of the pro rata season ticket cost going to the fan (£31 in my case as a SAR platinum ticket holder), with the club getting the difference between that and the match day price (£15, almost a third of the match day sales price of £46).

I suspect I’m not the only person who has noticed this and it is disappointing that this change has not been separately shown on the website, instead just rolled into the ticket details announcement for the Charlton game.

Again, I’m not taking anything away from the initiative, and I’m at least getting something for missed games which I wasn’t getting in the past. However, I feel the balance has shifted too far in favour of the club and I urge you to reconsider.

Having laid out £600 or whatever it was only to see almost every home game in the early part of the season moved to a less convenient time it feels a move which will increase revenue very marginally while pissing off loyal fans.

Fair enough if it’s a 3pm game or 7:45 midweek but I think a club at our level should be showing more flexibility given the ridiculousness of the Division Two TV schedule especially when Sky love doing the short hop to our place rather than traipsing to Blackburn.
