I think you're right re attitude, but we do need to whisper sweet nothings in his ear to show him he's important to the club/team and want him to stay

Fernandes on 10:05 - Aug 10 with 292 views | TimSaint | Downes was perhaps rushed back into the side, due to the injuries we've had in midfield. He had only been training with the squad in the week leading up to yesterday's game, so was bound to be a little jaded. Charles did well, but I thought he should have come off on 80 mins. Instead he was used as the single holding midfielder whilst everyone else pushed up !! :-) Once Fernandez and co was on, the tempo lifted and we were more creative. A Arm is still having nightmares about his end of first half miss and Downs (who did nothing noteworthy) is the most relieved man in training today after Jack showed him how to finish !! Will be interesting to see the team selection for Tuesday night.

Didn’t realise Downes had been rushed back, I thought he looked out of sorts and put it down to early season rustiness.

Flynn Downes always looks as if he's on a mission to get booked. He commits really crazy unnecessary fouls straight from kick off. He's a sending off waiting to happen. He needs a good talking too by WS.

To be fair to Downs, having watched the highlights he was pushed off the ball when Jack scored (he should have made sure to go down like Moore did), but yeah he did nothing noteworthy. We're still missing a centre forward.
