What rank hypocrisy booing the national anthem because it represents the establishment which is out of touch with real people in poverty.

This from a club that it is quite happy to spend hundreds of millions of pounds on overpriced show ponies that could be spent alleviating poverty in the city.

Why should they sing an outdated song when half of them are foreign anyway
And it’s not an interNational game so why are they even playing it

I see the scousers (and VVD) are upset that Palace fans didn't follow the minute's silence for Jota. You can't have it both ways sh1theads. Klopp used to defend their booing of the anthem by saying it was freedom of speech. Well, Palace fans have freedom of speech too. Generally in life, if you disrespect other people then don't expect any respect in return.

Their heroes are players on half a million pounds a week. They adore the richest, most arrogant, ferrari driving, mansion owning set of players in the world. They don't like the rich up there, and hate the gap between the rich and poor - oh hang on......

They are all a bunch of hypocrites. The only club that boos the national anthem. Just happy we arn't playing them this season. Whether it's the scouse attention seeking hypocrites or the glory hunting tourists, they're just the most unlikeable club.

Indeed, Wizzler.

Ever been to a Jewish wedding? They perform a loyal toast to the UK (and the King) and also to "the President and State of Israel". At least they did at the wedding I went to.

There were plenty of gentiles there, but no-one booed either toast , they just stayed silent if they didn't agree. This was a wedding on Manchester - it's a good job it wasn't in self-pity city I guess.

Meanwhile, big congrats to Palace on their win against the self-regarding scouse tvvats.

I dont agree with any English team booing the national anthem and a lot of Liverpool fans have acknowledged that if they boo the national anthem they can hardly expect others to respect their tribute.

I didn't see the game, who went first the national anthem or the tribute, was Palace's booing a reaction to the national anthem ?

30 years ago scousers used to follow England in large numbers, even though the 1980's had seen real deprivation in Liverpool, they still considered themselves English.

In the past 25 years or so that has changed and this "Scouse not English" thing has sprung up, the irony is that in the past 30 years Liverpool as a City has gone from extreme deprivation & unemployment to being one of the most invested in and flourishing City's in the country, of course there are still areas that are in poverty, but it is now a vibrant City and growing.

It has of course seen a large influx of non Scousers, not just immigrants from other countries, but youngsters who have been to one of the two Universities and stayed after their courses.

So a younger generation of Scousers have now got the siege mentality, Scouse not English and the Government is against us. All of the plastic Scousers who follow Liverpool from both going to games and afar see it as cementing their credentials in the fan base by joining in.

The older generation in the main are not so anti English, those my age hate the booing of the national anthem, even those who are not monarchists would not boo out of respect.

Those I know who were at Wembley from Liverpool were all over social media slagging off the booing of the national anthem and saying that if we give it out by doing that we can't moan if we get it back and Palace didn't respect our minutes silence.

The anthem was booed first. As reported by Sky:
---------------
Sky Sports' Peter Smith at Wembley reported: "Unsavoury moments there, as a few Crystal Palace fans called out 'Eagles' during the minute's silence for Diogo Jota, which drew boos from the Liverpool end.

"It followed Liverpool fans booing the national anthem, which drew an angry response from some in the Palace end."
---------------

It wouldn't even matter to me what the sequence was though. It's well known that Liverpool fans disrespect the country that they all benefit from and are going to boo the anthem. So, personally I have no respect for these Liverpool fans. Fvck them and their minute's silence. Well done to Palace and their fans.

Two wrongs do not make a right, I would not disrupt a minutes silence for someone who had died, whatever the team or circumstance, Palace fans should have risen above it, they became what they claim to despise.

This is not sticking up for Liverpool, it is sticking up for doing the decent thing

I have a few Liverpool fans from the city who hate the Scouse not English thing as well, but they are all live in the same streets, there are just as many Everton fans who consider themselves Scouse not English as Liverpool supporters.

Given that a fair chunk of the Liverpool support would not be from Liverpool, the question is why people from Slough or Reading or any other place in the country which is not Liverpool would boo the national anthem, it is because they are sheep.

Perhaps I'd agree if the tribute was for someone I respect, say Steven Gerrard, who gave his all for England. But I have no respect for Jota either, so I wouldn't feel inclined to pay any respect. He killed himself and his brother by driving dangerously. He could easily have killed others too. I know someone who is disabled because someone else chose to drive dangerously, so I have my own views on this. Let the family and friends have a private funeral and I will leave them in peace, but don't force a public service like this on me because he doesn't deserve it.

Even so, I would remain silent if I didn't want to upset others, like other fans in the stadium. But with this bunch of cvnts I wouldn't mind.

“ Is it because they are sheep” ?

Perhaps the problem ( if indeed there is one ) is because in today’s more informed and enlightened society greater numbers of people than previously don’t want to sing an anthem which celebrates defeating the Scots and has connections to the current Royal Family ?

A divorced King as head of the church of England who once suggested that he wanted to be a woman’s personal item and his brother who can’t appear in public because of his suggested links to an alleged sex offender probably doesn’t sit well with some ?

Not forgetting of course that I believe when his mother died Charles inherited a fortune without paying one penny of Inheritance Tax ?

No. The problem is the hypocrisy of Liverpool fans on the one hand bellyaching about the establishment seemingly ignoring poverty in Liverpool but on the other, are perfectly happy for their club to spend hundreds of millions of pounds on fancy pants players who drive around in supercars.

You couldn’t possibly get more hypocritical.
