Flags 09:29 - Aug 22 with 5710 views | SonicBoom | Seems to be a touchy subject - but on my commute to Whiteley each day I notice people are tying uion jacks to bridges over the motorways. Also close to Redbridge roundabout there's a bridge with flags on stating "Southampton Patriots". I'm not entirely sure what the point is?

Flags on 09:19 - Aug 29 by jopreston | Why the need to bring Farage into it, and yet again mention of racism? It has no part or relevance to our discussion. It seems to me you are using it to try and divert and deflect attention from my statements rather than answering them in a direct way. Try to answer again. By letting in tens of thousands of young men, unchecked and un-vetted, are we putting our children at more risk or less? |
Because he is using this situation to stir up division and yes, racism is at the heart of it. Perhaps you can’t see it but it is pure tribalism. The whole flag thing. The focussing on the actions of a small number of asylum seekers. Farage knows that this all resonates with certain types of people, those who are prepared to take to the streets and stir up trouble. Maybe you have forgotten, but he was the one who stirred up the Stockport riots. Where are the disturbances and riots when white men sexually assault and rape women? Of course it has a racial element. If you can’t see it, perhaps you aren’t looking hard enough? You completely ignore the fact that women and girls are at more danger from people who are not seeking asylum. If you are serious about keeping white women and girls safe, open your eyes to the people who are committing domestic violence every day of the week. You do know that many of the brave young men who took to the streets to burn hotels were convicted of domestic violence previously? [Post edited 29 Aug 20:16]

The focus is on asylum seekers because they are uninvited, undocumented individuals from different cultures. No- one is saying we don’t need to continue the focus on our own criminal issues.

You are missing my point. Why bring Farage into it? It is not on topic at all. No one mentioned allegiance to him in anyway so why do you feel the need to bring him up? I also note you go on and on about ONLY white people committing crimes, and ignore my pertinent question about making things worse or better. I thought my question was easy enough to answer, but it would seem perhaps you want to avoid it for some reason I cannot fathom. [Post edited 30 Aug 1:45]

Indeed. He has flown off on one here on a tangent speaking as if this is all the fault of Farage and that people don't see it because they don't look hard enough etc. Irrelevant to the topic on hand and a very strange thing to bring up as it is totally unrelated. But he has repeatedly ignored my question, which I think speaks volumes. [Post edited 30 Aug 1:42]

What ‘speaks volumes’ is the way you disingenuously push the idea that this is all an issue of child protection, and pour scorn on anyone who, rightly, raises the issues of tribalism, nationalism and, yes, racism that are so very obviously also involved. To say that talking about Farage is ‘off on a tangent’ and ‘irrelevant to the topic on hand and a very strange thing to bring up as it is totally unrelated’ is one of either the dumbest or most insincere things ever written on this forum.

Wow. You do have serious reading and cognitive disabilities. I shall therefore leave it there. No point taking this further. You are clearly incapable.

Fair enough. We’ll try our best to survive without your rapier-like insights.

And you repeatedly ignore the fact that this is more than just some kind of noble act born out of protection of our young children. I look forward to the protests and riots outside churches in response to the many acts of sexual abuse towards children by Christians over countless decades. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Flags on 13:19 - Sep 1 with 146 views | DorsetIan | First flags spotted in West Dorset. A mix of Union Jacks and Saltires, arranged bunting-like, as if for a nice street party. I'm guessing it must be some Scottish Unionists, far from home, wanting to add their support to the flag revolution.
