If that was football related or even a Glatonbury type festival there would be a national outcry. How come this allowed every year?
I'm pretty much a leftie liberal and I have no issue with immigration or race issues but I say this purely from a public order standpoint. If the Reading festival had over 400 arrests every year it would be banned.

Arrests 423 out of a million people attending is quite low. Football related arrests are 4.2 per 100,000. Generally it seems its a small minority and the police say this years carnival was comparatively peaceful. |  |

If the police arrested everyone who smoked a bit of weed the legal system would collapse and the police would not be able to function. If you want everyone arrested for breaking the law then you can forget the police doing anything but fill in paperwork only for the CPS to throw it out. | |

Presumably you drive at 20 or 30 mph in the correct zone and always at 70 or under on the motorway. The cannabis laws are archaic and unless you are a supplier then the police won’t bother as they have better things to do. Do you think they should arrest everyone smoking a joint or in possession of a small amount for personal use ? | |
