Energy Price -some figures 12:38 - Aug 27 with 980 viewsJACKMANANDBOY

Average gas price in 2025: £54/MWh
- New offshore wind guaranteed price: £113/MWh
- New floating wind guaranteed price: £271/MWh

We are going to see continued increases, Miliband is making some very expensive guarantees for wind power development. As the technology develops there's going to be some very profitable wind generators. Better to move slowly with technology change rather than throw all the money you can at today's solutions. I don't think Miliband understands the speed of change that characterises technology development.

I now see the regulator has said that wind farm costs are partly responsible for driving up energy costs.

Does Milliband not understand or does he have shares in a certain company, or maybe a promise of a job in the future? It wouldn't be the first time.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I don't know if he's capable of it.

The real concern here is that Labour begin to believe that they've got no chance in 2029 and desperately start trying to force through all the mad shit they can in a scorched earth style before then.

When they are voted out leaving a larger black hole than they inherited it will be the end of the Labour party as we know it.

What I don’t understand, is with uk spending significantly less on green energy than the likes of Germany, France, Sweden etc, why are out energy costs so much higher.

With the increase in the energy prices today ofgem announced that it will add £52 to every bill to pay off bad debt and also contemplating writing off large debts for bad debtors

That's really going to stop these people running up large debt!

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

I'm hardly a fan of his but Don Trump has said that wind power is the cause of our rising bills.

I dont know about green energy but the Germans and French are charging us enough for our nuclear energy to subsidize energy costs in their home nations...Let that sink in for a minute or two.

Germany primarily gets its energy from fossil fuels, with oil (34%) and natural gas (26%) being the most significant components of its total energy supply, though it imports most of this energy. While renewables have grown substantially and now account for all low-carbon electricity generation after the nuclear phase-out in 2023, they only make up around 20% of the total energy consumption, with fossil fuels making up over 77%.

Germany does not have a nuclear power stations so not sure how they can be charging us for non existent energy especiallyas there is not electricity interconnect cable between the UK and Germany. France provides 7% of our electricity and the National grid pay the market wholesale price for it.
