I think there is a standoff between a Manager who thinks his way is the only way and a set of players who remain very much unconvinced that he is right. I know he likes playing 3 at the back with wingbacks but whenever I've seen Utd play including last night they don't seem to have much control of the game unlike Jim's team. I can understand it against top Premier League teams but even against Grimsby last night you'd have thought they would have had more control and been dictating the pace of the game. I think it is. The difference being that Jim in fairness has clearly recruited over several transfer windows for this system. Our 2 central midfielders are much more mobile and also has players like Barlow/ Pritchard who can support in the middle of the pitch if outnumbered. |  | | |
