Saito goal 14:44 - Aug 30 with 7558 viewsbosh67

Such a good goal this from winning the ball back to Saito's glorious run and finish. This is why we got him back, to run through the middle like this with pace.

Never knowingly right.

Remarkable performance from Saito. To have not had any football since he last turned out for us and yet to be so ‘on it’ from the moment he stepped on the pitch was ridiculous. He didn’t do one thing wrong and did some difficult things well, the goal being the icing on the cake. Genuine MOTM contender and wasn’t on the pitch long.

Preseason is so overrated

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

Not bad for another height challenged attacker that does nothing but smile. Well done Koki

And apparently those that are full of knowledge he is too lightweight too and easily bullied off the ball. Looked ok to me when he was bearing down on goal

Great to have him back, like a breath of fresh air

He definitely wised up last season and wasn't knocked off the ball as, easily, That said there'll still be games where he's kicked off the pitch and championship refs will let it happen sadly.

The little feint before shooting took all the defenders the wrong way .. brilliant

Big deflection but deserved the luck for such a grest run.

That goal transcended any of the recent polarised arguing - was the sort of skill and end product we've all been waiting seemingly months for.

Am still buzzing that it actually happened because by that stage of that sort of game we're so often resigned to a frustrating point.

Welcome back Koki.

I was pretty scathing of the signing as I just didn't think we needed him.
I'm happy to put my hands up, that was a great goal. Not only that but he brought what Dembele lacked, desire. A great goal.

Looked a lot like the goals we conceded last week, straight down the middle.

Fair dues for that Wilkins. Not often someone comes on here and owns a past opinion. I doubt a few of the others (they know who they are) will do the same.

The thing that makes Saito potentially a bit special is he is genuinely two footed - as his goal showed - and it’s a really rare and special skill at this level.

He’s has some real quality that others don’t have and in combination with his incredible attitude (he doesn’t seem to get nervous or despondent) and work rate and tactical discipline, I think he’s a real asset.

You can’t really see it in these shots but from the camera angle behind our goal I was fairly sure that it was actually Esquerdinha that wins the ball in the challenge with Campbell and pokes it through to Saito, so technically his assist!

Fantastic. I work in a school in central London and we have a lot of Japanese families. The kids are all so nice and well behaved. Something wonderful about the Japanese culture is that they value respect and hardwork so highly and if Koki is anything to go by, they also have a sense of humour.

Fair do’s WWC/Ollie, always good to get balance and especially rare to ‘own up’ to previous views.

Loke you I did wonder as to the logic, but so so happy with his performance today

I did find the comments about him being lightweight a bit strange to be honest. Sure he isn't the biggest, but loads of times last season he fronted up and beat defenders way bigger than him. He uses his body really well and as much as small players may not seem to like facing big defenders, big defenders will hate playing against a tricky player like him. A few years in the Dutch league before us remember, it isn't like he isn't used to it. Will be our key man this season.

I've seen several websites giving Esquerdinha the assist for Saito's goal, so you've got that spot on.
