Liam Morrison agrees new deal on 11:23 - Sep 2 with 2617 views | WestbourneR | He's certainly not been bad - worth a longer contract and hopefully will continue to improve - but I think I'm one of the few that hasn't been blown away by him. I'd give him a 7/10 tops so far. His positional sense is good, he's good on the ball - but I fear he's too slight and not gnarly enough. I like my CBs a bit more commanding. More imposing in the air certainly Dare I say, he reminds of Grant Hall sometimes. Again, a player many rated, but I thought he was ultimately too powder puff for CB. So -- I'll be very happy if he grows in stature - but he's got a way to go yet IMO. 22 years old so plenty of time and room to fully blossom as a leading CB.

Liam Morrison agrees new deal on 12:02 - Sep 2 with 2370 views | dm97 | Regularly forget how young he is. Under previous regimes having a 22 year old playing every week would be mana from heaven. One of the undeniable good things we have right now is the average age of a lot of our mainstays. Good decision. Still pissed at the comms.

You say you’ve not been blown away but then give him 7/10, which is pretty good and about where I am. He reminded me more of Matthew Connolly especially when he first broke into the side. Really good passer of the ball and defends well enough for our level and should improve. Has a quiet authority about him but perhaps lacks personality but again this should improve with age and is hard to quantify anyway. I do sometimes feel that he plays better when the team is performing well and sometimes gets shown up when we’re not. Although his win record when playing last season was very good so maybe I’m wrong about that. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I agree with most of this, but he is only 22 so hopefully will improve and we will benefit from that rather than someone else
Liam Morrison agrees new deal on 13:53 - Sep 2 with 1838 views | dmm | Morrison benefited from playing beside an old head in Cook last season. He's now probably going to play alongside Mbengue who is only 23, though does have good experience. Hopefully Dunne and Field will provide on the pitch tips.
Liam Morrison agrees new deal on 14:31 - Sep 2 with 1693 views | WestbourneR | Again unpopular opinion but Mbengue looks a bit of mess to me. His positioning is... chaotic. And I don't like the antics. I'd really have liked Edwards there and Mbengue on the bench. If (lol) JCS can come back and stay fit I'd play him alongside Morrison as first choice.

He's certainly going to be rocks and diamonds. Not a lot in between.

I think he’d make a better right back to be honest. I was thinking Dunne in middle alongside Morrison and Mbengue at right back. Dunne can provide the dominant header in the middle and Mbengue a bit more pace out wide.
Liam Morrison agrees new deal on 15:22 - Sep 2 with 1407 views | WestbourneR | In theory this makes sense. Nothing about Dunne suggests he should be good at RB over CB but he is. And even more to the point he was totally shot at CB by the end. He and Dickie looked like broken men in the middle.

I like Morrison. Only 22 and playing regularly as a CB in the Championship is pretty good, though he needs those 50 games under his belt ASAP. I thought Saturday he dealt pretty well in the end with their very physical striker. I do think we are in danger of forgetting how young some of our players are. Kolli and Morgan are only 19, but they already feel like they have been playing for a while. I see Walsh has switched off his social media, apparently. Nice lot on Twitter, etc. [Post edited 2 Sep 17:55]

If we think the playing out from the back is bad now, I don’t want to know what happens if we put him back to CB. He was one of the best RBs in the league last year (stats wise anyway). Leave him be imo.
