Out of the current crop of players, who do you think can bring the passion next Sunday? Only players who were part of either squad in the last game down at Fratton Park were Jack Stephens & Alex McCarthy.
A few skates chirping on about them signing the scrote “Chavlin” and how he is looking to do us over. All I remember is him sprinting from the bench right across the pitch to celebrate after being subbed off when Ipswich scored the winner against us in 2024 at Portman Road. |  | | |  |

I'm hoping Will Still has already learnt the bitter rivalry between both clubs in his short time here.
Personally, I reckon it's up to Will Still to inject the passion into the players prior to kick off. He should be saying to them 'This game means more to the fans than any other. Make yourself heroes. Show the home fans who you are' - or words to that effect. |  |

Captain Jack will, so will Manning. THB maybe? And hopefully Aziz and Fellows will want to make a good impression on their home debuts. Fellows said in his first interview that he knows the importance of a derby game coming from Birmingham. He also mentioned the electric atmosphere created by the Saints fans in the play off game at SMS and how he was looking forward to the derby game so I think he will bring it as he definitely sounds up for it. This has got me thinking, there’s a lot of new players, several of whom could be making their debuts and may well not have experienced anything quite like it. Just hope it inspires them, one and all.
As for ‘Chavlin’ if ever a scumbag player and a scumbag club deserved each other it’s those two. TBH if the tw@t plays he will be a liability and could put one or more of our players out of action for months - think Edozie last time in this division. What is needed is a strong Ref not another one in the procession of utter sh1te refs served up by the Football League so far this season. As nice as it is not to have to put up with VAR this is perhaps one game where it might be needed. |  | | |

Interesting point re the ref. Could it be that being at SMS a weak ref may well "fvour" the home side? Or not wanting to show thaat he is intimidated give more to the skates? |  |

It’s the fans who should bring the passion! Our lot can be loud and passionate at times but overall our fans tend to sit on their hands a lot. We know the skates will be up for it but will all sides of St Mary’s be really really up for it. They f*ucking well should be. For a start the whole ground should be stood up and then contribute to the atmosphere like they’ve never contributed before.

Agree Pat . Seeing Steve Moran score was one of the best days of my life.
Sounds a bit sad really but for me at the time things couldn’t get any better.
Mark Dennis was one of my heroes, he played ( granted a lot better than I could) the same position I did. Thinking about those times, David Armstrong was my favourite player. Unbelievable really he didn’t get more recognition. Btw I thought we played crap that day. Who cares though we won and that’s what history says. | | | |
