The club owners plan to use the proceeds on raising wages and acquiring players, as well as for expansion of real estate and hospitality facilities such as the fan zone.
Founded in 1912, Swansea City spent seven consecutive years in the English Premier League between 2011 and 2018 before being relegated to the second tier. The team ranks seventh in the Championship League after four matches into the current season. The Welsh club is targeting to earn promotion back to the Premier League within three years, the investor documents show.
The majority owners of Swansea City are the American businessmen Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen. They are founding partners of Magellan Equities, which invests in software, sports and local services companies.
Swansea is looking to increase its matchday revenue and domestic sponsorship and has achieved consistent success in player trading over the last three years. In the fiscal year ended June 2024, the club’s total revenue was roughly £32 million including about £10.5 million profit from player trading. Excluding player trading, the team booked a £20.2 million loss in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization.
The club also touted the “Luka Effect” as Modrić, a Ballon d’Or winner, would call all of the top recruitment targets to explain the advantages of joining Swansea City and how to improve as a player, the documents show.

I love reading stuff like this.
There's nothing wrong with us as supporters being ultra positive, albeit with that memory at the backs of our minds telling us we shouldn't go nuts with spending, but it's yet another boost to the positivity to read articles like this which give us an idea of how the owners are looking to plan for the future.
Targeting promotion back to the PL is what we all want but if the plan really is to achieve it over a three year period then that suggests a planned building process not a 'throw money at it' attitude.
Three years gives us another six transfer windows to build up the squad and that makes sense to me. | | | |

I remember attending a fans forum in Carmarthen (which was packed out) which is 28 miles away from Swansea. 28 is 40% more than 20 so does that make the Swans 40% bigger than Cardiff ?
