Agree. For me I really don’t understand why they don’t try and play one touch at pace, it would kill these sort of teams…I’d have thought the best opportunity to try that would be against such opponents and if it does go wrong, you’re not going to be punished like against a decent team.

Dan Burn playing in an England shirt, that's a big part of the problem. Hugely over-rated player. Just a big lump who wouldn't particularly stand out in the Championship.

awful, possession yes but stats don't in games. we got it wide but rarely into the box, did kane get a shot on goal? our record scorer?
i flicked over to womens rugby and our women are ruthless, v any opposition, no excuses about ranking they demolish them.
as for decent teams, again we are in a seemingly easy group, we qualify then get to finals and many times before, struggle as not tested.

These games are always a bit rubbish but it's been a tough watch under Tuchel so far.
For all the talk of attacking talent it's scary how few chances we create. I'm not sure why Rashford is playing ahead of Grealish at the moment but it is what it is.
Can only really judge him at a tournament though same as Southgate, hopefully it goes well next summer |  | | |

I don’t recall anyone asking for a German to be put in charge and for him to dig up as many of his old Chelscum charges as possible?
I’m not sure I remember anyone wanting pedestrian football drumming a horseshoe pattern into the pitch around vastly inferior opposition penalty boxes.
Who was calling for wholesale changes to the squad and those involving bringing back Henderson from his Rayner exile?
Southgate did really well, he carried out the role his way and was an Englishman with integrity.
However, he lacked that certain something when it mattered, he needed that last push and just went all John Major rather than Lee Majors on the biggest of stages.
Tuchel was the wrong choice but in his defence I think we are years off having world class keepers, defenders or central midfielders (Bellingham aside). By then Kane will be gone and I can’t see the other attacking talent we have making up for that.

We were not that far away under Southgate, a penalty shoot out that could easily have gone the other way if Rashford scores against Spain they were the better side but a better header from Guehi or Rice in the last minute and we go to extra time. Very fine margins
