I get this, because I agree with most of it and if I didn’t go to the occasional game, I’d feel the same.
Reality is, it’s totally different at games now. You’ll get the very rare scrote, but it’s 99% people supporting their country. Nobody cares where anyone’s from or who their club is.
Unfortunately, if people from Swansea turn their back on Wales because of how it was 20 years ago or governing body/media bias, they will be proving the Cardiff fans right. |
Well I’m glad that it has improved amongst the fans that is great- what will never improve is the “all about Cardiff” - the fragile capital city egos that are still upset that they had to give up their swimming pool FFS 🤦. I live just off North Street in Southville/Bedminster - that’s got lots and lots of trendy bars and bouji restaurants but across the footbridge in Hotwells and the Harbour it’s even better. Much friendlier and with much more historical interest. Clifton is one of the most amazing residential places I’ve ever been to. Dripping with class. | | | |

I know Bedminster a little bit. Mate of mine used to live in the Robinson building. She's out in Fishponds now. My mother also used to run pubs in both Horfield and Bishopsworth so I've been coming back and fore since the late 90's on and off.
The Harbourside is a cracking night out. Have drunk plenty of silly strength cider in the Apple. Some very good ale pubs on King Street too. | |

This is a fair point. I just don’t see it as a reason not to support Wales.

We had a good works afternoon out on cup final day earlier this year and we were outside the Kings street brew house sat down on the multitude of benches outside. Went on the that darts place “flight club”. What a cracking day out.

The place she used to run in Bishopsworth is called The Tythings now. Was The Elm Tree at the time. I don't know if the area has gentrified a bit over the last 25 years but it had a certain reputation then.
We've done pub crawls all over Bristol over the years. Clifton was a good one. Gloucester Road I've done a few times. There's even a fairly good brewery tap room one than can be done mostly on foot. | |
