Bobby Wales 09:03 - Sep 14 with 6341 views | Whiterockin | What's the future for him now. Didn't make the bench yesterday and less chance when Stamenic and Fulton are fit, unless Vipotnik or Idah are injured. Surely we will put a strong team out against Forest and go with the same squad. So under 21s for Wales? that's a lot of money for a u21 player and probably not the deal he was sold [Post edited 14 Sep 19:15]

Still needs to assess the strengths and weaknesses in his squad. So I would give some of his players a rest.

We had 9 on the bench and a 20 man squad on Saturday. Fisher will start and I can't see many if any coming into that squad apart from Farman. This is the format we followed with Plymouth and I expect similar.
Billy Wales on 11:44 - Sep 14 with 3526 views | jack247 | He’s not going to be a centre forward unless we play two up front. He’ll have the same problem Cullen does. If he breaks through, it will be at the top of midfield or out wide. We’ve strengthened those two positions quite significantly, so not easy to break through. Did we possibly just sign him because it was too good a deal not to? Sheehan hasn’t given him anything yet.

The little I've seen of Idah, two part games prior to yesterday he tended more on the right than a straight up the middle number 9. He seemed to be more out there yesterday also are we going to morph into a two up front. Surely we have bought these players with a plan in mind.

Hard to judge him on yesterday. We weren’t attacking them at all at point so he was forced to drop deep and go wide. He’ll probably start Wednesday and we should get more of an idea about him, albeit against PL players. I haven’t seen Wales apart from the Crawley game. Only guessing, but looking at him he’s got to play alongside/behind a striker.

Against Crawley limit game time and limited space got it out from under his feet and got the shot away quickly inside the box, would like to see more of him in competitive games, He also won or competed well in the air all be it against a lower division team.

He finished well without a doubt. I just can’t see where he fits unless Sheehan changes the system. He’s not going to play up front on his own. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Given that I don't care about the Carabao cup, why not try 2 up front? Why not go 4-1-3-2 or 4-3-1-2 ? Start with Vipotnik and Idah and bring Wales on for the last 30, or even half time if nothings happening. We have to give Wales something, some hope of a first team chance. I agree he'll be mostly in the U21's but they do get chances too.

Would two up top be a better option to catch teams pressing forward and making the swapping of play from one side to the other slower with our the wingers able to hold the flanks and also keep fullback busy. We lost our shape yesterday in that second half but we also did for their first goal.

I agree. It does seem like we’ve brought in a lot of attacking talent in the summer, but are using last seasons tactics with this seasons players. I think I’d keep Vipotnik and Idah apart, but play one of them alongside a smaller, nippier player who can exploit gaps. It’s not just Bobby Wales, Widdell isn’t going to get much of a chance in this system either. Galbraith, Franco and Stanenic are probably going to be our starting three with everyone fit, but we need to find some way of getting creativity into the team.

Weird ain’t For year's we’ve gone on about not bringing in players , now we have brought in too many IMO Wales was our first buy yet now he is nowhere Why buy him Then Widell , so good he was loaned back to his former club Ergo a player we wanted badly Now he is a bit part player Then , we bring in more on loan , as cover, hmm I’d rather us have used funds to bring in higher quality players who were nailed on to start , like Galbraith Soz but I stay uneasy with Sheehan and to a lesser extent with the owners Montague leaving after seven months doesn’t look good either I hope I’m wrong but Sheehan to me is playing with a poker face He’s supposed to be honest and deserved the job but people change He was responsible for yesterday as the buck stops with him

You moan like hell during the international break because Swans aren’t playing, then the Swans play and you moan like hell. Having too good a squad is an inventive one I have to say. Yes, the substitutions and tactics yesterday are down to Sheehan

I think he was brought in because we were going to offload Vipotnik and he was going to be backup to our "new" main striker. Vipotniks form improved and is still here as is our new main striker so Wales is currently surplus to first team requirements while we play one up front. His £300,000 fee and relatively low wages are not an issue as we can take our time with him. But I would be surprised if he is not bitterly disappointed not to be pushing for selection. All purely my opinion and not a fact.

Of course. It’s just the relentless ability to see the negative in everything that I’m questioning. Last season our squad was threadbare. I thought it would take a lot longer than one window to rectify that. It’s inevitable that there will be issues as he tries to manage a squad with several new players, most, if not all of whom, look ready to challenge for the first team. Most of us thought it would take at least two, more likely three or four windows to get the squad where it is now. We’ll have a settled squad of quality players far sooner than we expected. As for Bobby Wales, it’s very difficult to have an opinion on him, we’ve only seen him for half an hour in a cup game.
Bobby Wales on 21:21 - Sep 14 with 2366 views | builthjack | He played 38 Scottish Premier games and scored 3 goals. Someone has seen something in him. Time may tell. Or he could be a dud.
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.
