Work in Progress 17:39 - Sep 14 with 8902 views | grumpy | Now I have calmed down I think we should be happy with a draw. Why? I hear you say, well its too early to become despondent. The first half was awful and we could have gone in a couple of goals down. The second half was better, not much I grant you but better. The new players look promising. When we settle into a team(hopefully with punch upfront ) I think we will look a lot better. As for Pompey, they had a good game plan but apart from Murphy I cant see them scoring many. A draw was a good result bearing in mind the first half so lets look forward with optimism.

Indeed. I just hope we can start to play moves like that more often, start converting them and start better in the first half. Something is wrong there. No idea why we seem to start so badly.

If we lose or play out a crappy draw against Hull on Saturday I think they'll be a major meltdown .

Agree completely. It's a big game this Saturday. We've had the derby. The new players are in. In the bottom half of the table. Performances have been poor. Playing a team tipped to be relegated. We need a win, or as you say, the fans will start turning on WS.

Any player who is above average is sold. We then spend the money buying players for ten times the price other Championship clubs would pay to get players of the same standard or better, as we saw with the Stoke team that beat us, which cost next to nothing in transfer fees. Sport Republic's recruitment is abysmal. Tens of millions are poured down the drain as every transfer window makes the team even worse. We are now a lower mid-table 2nd tier team. Another transfer window could be enough for Sport Republic to turn us into a bottom 3 team. Today our best 3 players were Stephens, Bazunu and Charles. Who'd have thought we'd be saying that a couple of years ago? If any of them plays well enough to attract a buyer, they'll be sold and replaced by someone worse. [Post edited 14 Sep 19:46]

Another transfer window could be enough for Sport Republic to turn us into a bottom 3 team." I was thinking of next summer's transfer window, but, of course, there's still January. They've forced our best player, Jay Robinson, out of the team, to make way for the mediocre midfielders they've signed. I wouldn't blame him for leaving in January, and Sport Republic will always cash in on our best players at the earliest opportunity. [Post edited 20 Sep 19:03]
